Pleasantly surprised Klimchuk is still up. I was impressed with him last night.

They can still assign to the ECHL. ECHL camp starts later than AHL camp

Is that it for cuts today?

I thought GG had said he'd like the number down to around 28 guys?

Disappointed Kylington got cut. I wanted to see him with Stone in a game.

It might, but it probably shouldn't. I've been incredibly impressed with the player Kylington has become this pre-season, but I can't sit here with a straight face and say he's NHL ready yet. He's not.

Just AHL assignments, I wonder if there will be a few more cuts today like the guys that go back to JR or release a PTO or two

No surprises. Kylington was fine, but he needs another year in the AHL. Mangiapane needs to get stronger and faster if he wants to be an NHLer.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the goalies. Personally I think they need to trade Rittich if he doesn't win the backup job. Need to give AHL games to Gillies and Parsons.

Nobody who needed waivers to be assigned to the AHL was cut or the Flames are waiting for said players to clear before cutting them.

Might be some strategy there as to when they will actually waive them to ensure high probability they will clear.

Flames could have sent Dube and Valimaki back to junior, but have decided to hold on to them for now.

Why? Everyone who was at the game seems to be saying Spoon has the inside track on Kulak/Butlerkowski
