A combo of Parsons/Gilles/Rittich will not cost much on the goaltending front if all goes as planned.
But I am also hoping to see a 3-5 year deal for Samwise.

Yeah, Lazar is just coming off his ELC. So at this point he has 3 years service time. After this deal he'll be RFA for 2 more years with arbitration rights...or at least based on how the current CBA works.

The great thing for Lazar is the trade and acquisition cost ... he's no longer a first rounder that hasn't found his way. He's a guy acquired for a 2nd round pick in a thin draft that is getting a reboot.
A solid 9th forward would be a great return for that trade. Anything more is thick delicious gravy.

Yeah, if he can become a top 9 forward who produces 12 goals and 30 points for this type of dollar figure that would be great. I still think there is something there to work with.
Years ago Shane Doan made the NHL at a young age, looked good in his rookie year, and than struggled for the next three years until he finally established himself as a top 6 forward.
Lazar has similar pedigree from junior, where he was pretty successful on good teams at that level and had a decent first NHL season. Hopefully this change of scenery will allow him to blossom into something more. I think the guy has some tools to work with, and the head to work with them.

Wouldn't that take him straight to UFA as early as possible though?

Just looking up Lazar now and he's a 2013 draft pick, first round. That's five first round picks from that draft Calgary has in their system. Monahan, Poirier, Klimchuk drafted, then Shinkaruk and Lazar trade for.
Certainly you hope two of the remaining four after Monahan make a push and make the team at this point. Lazar looked like an NHL'er last year for the Flames and if Poirier can get back on track with his personal issues it'd be nice to have Klimchuk or Shinkaruk show a jump as well.
It's been an up and down development for all four guys.. but here's hoping.

Treliving is knocking this off-season out of the park but if he signs Iginla I'll be disappointed.

The Bouma and Jooris type overpayments are clearly in the rear view mirror as Treliving has done a nice job getting team friendly RFA contracts after getting a few of them under his belt.

Ufa is 27. I think this takes him to penultimate Rfa year. Maybe I'm wrong. My point being he signs a deal that leaves one Rfa year left.

It's 7 accrued seasons or 27, whichever comes first.
An accrued season is one in which they player was on the NHL roster for at least 40 games. For Bennett, his time on the roster in 2014-15 was less than 40 games, so that doesn't count as an accrued season.
2015-16 was Bennett's first accrued season. 5 more will put him to UFA status.

Fair deal all things considered.
So far, the Lazar and Ferland deals are pretty much spot on for what we should expect. Bennett is where is gets a little interesting.

Everyone took you seriously. And in a particularly busy offseason where everyone wants to armchair GM (sometimes badly), who can blame them?
