I like the cut of your jib, but there's no way Brouwer gets you a 1st.

I think trading Brouwer for a 1st round pick would be way more impressive than us winning a Cup next year!
...and odd to see us trade for Duchene but he doesn't make our starting lineup??

I think the vast majority of CP was too generous in their estimations for Ferland, Bennett and Lazar. I still feel as though Sam will sign a 2 year deal at a 2.0-2.25 AAV leaving the Flames with roughly 6 mil in cap space, which is a pretty good spot to be in for any additional moves that may need to be made.

Lol.
Vegas could have had either player for literally free, and they didn't take them.

Yes, I agree, turning NHL 17 to easy mode is a good way to win a cup.

You have it reversed: It would probably cost the Flames a 1st for someone to take Brouwer.

Treliving might be the best GM in the NHL in terms of cap management.

I agree with the Bennett contract, but the Flames will have less cap-space than stated.
After the Lazar signing they have roughly 7.2M left. If 2.2M for Bennett, that's 5M left with 12 forwards signed, 6 defenseman and 2 goalies.
A lot of the left over spots will be filled with Jankowski/Shinkaruk/Poirier/Wotherspoon/Kulak at ~1M, but there's still not a ton.

His people skills have to be phenomenal. So much buy in from everyone, and at decent value. It is impressive.

I think he may have also learned some of these skills from the fact that he is the son of a very shrewd business person. We are lucky to have him.

I'm thinking 3 year 2.75-3 AAV. Would be worth taking the risk of paying more now for his potential upside.

I have a feeling he is great at vision-casting. I think these players are buying into his vision and letting the wizard put them under a spell.
