Default Happy Birthday Jim Henson

Made millions of children and adults laugh and cry over his lifetime, but was sadly taken from us too early. The world could use more muppets.

Always loved the Muppets growing up, Jim Henson was an incredible visionary. I hope at some point Disney is able to figure out where they fit in todays entertainment world.

C'mon man,

Cast your cares away, worry's for another day.

I still have ‘Muppet Family Christmas’ on vhs that I keep with all the Christmas dvd’s for the kids and I to watch each season. I actually kept a vcr and tube tv for years just to be able to watch this made for tv special that went off the air years ago. It’s now available on YouTube so we just watch it through that site these days but I still keep the vhs out on display for nostalgia reasons.

Years back when I looked for the dvd it was like $70. Maybe it’s come down by now, I admittedly haven’t looked in quite some time

Doozers and Fraggles have a symbiotic relationship. Doozers love to build things and Fraggles love to eat the things that Doozers build. That creates more space so that the Doozers have room to continue building. Perfect harmony!

Suggest you view the documentary source material found in episode 1x06: "The Preachification of Convincing John" before spreading hateful misinformation about fraggles and slavery. Link to synopsis is below:

They stopped eating for an episode as they felt bad and it turned out horrific for the Doozers.

It's unfortunate that Henson's projects like The Storyteller are so obscure. It's a darker world than the Muppets for sure, but no less engaging.

https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Saturday_Night_Live

Quote:

Jim Henson's Muppets were regular performers in the first season of Saturday Night Live (1975-76). The characters, which were specifically created for the show, appeared in The Land of Gorch segments. Fifteen sketches were produced, featuring performances by Muppeteers Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, Frank Oz, Alice Tweedie, Fran Brill, and Richard Hunt.

The series of sketches lasted from SNL's first episode to April of 1976 (and became a recurring joke in the show's second season). The book Live From New York by TV critic Tom Shales details the backstage conflict between the writers of the show, who resisted integrating the Muppets into the show during the first year, and the Muppet performers.
