Dumping Lucic likely costs you the first.

Does it say why Lucic waves to go to Buffalo?

No. Only need to clear about 3 million to fit Eichel in. And thats much easier to do trading elsewhere with other teams.

Eichel carries a 10m cap hit
Tkachuk is 7m
Lucic is 5.25m
Considering we were up against the cap last season, we definitely need to dump someone.

I would do it. The problem is getting Lucic to waive to go to Buffalo, no way. It is basically Tkachuk and the dumping of Looches contract with a bunch of magic beans for one of the top 5 centers in the league.

With or without looch I think I'd do it too. Love Chucky but really concerned with how he disengaged at times this year after he got called out by his teammates

I take the Lucic out and drop some of the prime assets.
I would rather keep the futures and see if Seattle had interest in Backs to free up some cap space. With Eichel coming in you could keep Lindholm up the middle and have Eichel-Lindholm-Monahan as an elite center trio

Any rumour/article that doesn't acknowledge MT's QO to UFA path is junk.
IMO, A is more likely to interest BUF than B (which isn't to say it's enough)
A)Andersson+Mangiapane+Pelletier+1st+Wolf
B)Tkachuk+Zary+1st
I think A) would probably require adding Lindholm for Reinhart+C Miller/Risto, which I probably wouldn't do (unless the market is totally dead to move at least one of 13/19/23).

There is a follow up deal where BUF bribes the Kraken to take Lucic. Seems silly to involve BUF, if we wanted that we could bribe the Kraken ourselves.

Rather keep Backs as a 3rd line centre and trade Monahan for value. Monahan is overkill for a 3rd liner IMO.
We'd probably have to pay the Kraken to take Backs so it would be a big swing in assets.

Tkachuk, Zary and a 1st should be enough for Eichel. No need to pay those other assets to dump Looch who wouldn't waive for Buffalo anyways.

If they'd do Tkachuk Zary 1st, sign the ####ing paperwork and fire up that fax machine.

If you're trying to dump Lucic you pay a draft pick and prospect to Seattle to take him. End of story. Any other deal and you have to pay out the nose because of cap considerations. Seattle will have to take a couple big salaries to hit the cap floor. This makes sense, and if Treliving doesn't consider it I question his ability to do the job.

F that. Way too high a price to rid the team of Lucic.

It would cost a first round pick . Flames prospect pool can’t afford to be giving that away just for cap space.

There is no way Eichel is coming to Calgary. I guess it is a speculation thread.

Buffalo wants Skinner, Okposo, AND Lucic?
That's over 20 million doing next to nothing.
