Went Schneider again. Maybe he builds off a decent year and becomes a more prominent goalie for the Heat this year?

I'm not a big Lomberg guy. He's got the tenacity and wheels to be a 12/13th forward, but he lacks any real skill, and he's just too small to be all that effective in the role he potentially fits (skill wise) at the NHL level. Just my opinion of course.

I was hoping I was done voting for Lomberg. He isn't even that special, but I have voted for him for so many rounds now. Please folks, just vote for him, and we can move on to other players.

I went with Lindstrom. I just can’t vote for Lomberg right now.

Voting Lomberg simply to stop the talk of when Lomberg should go. I’d like to actually discuss the merits of the remaining prospects.

Philp - 2X Usport MVP including Derek Ryan type stats, two way center, rhs, just turned pro. Surprised he's being sold so short, he had a year left of usport that he left early because the Flames were so interested.

Gawdin gets 40% in the runoff and is retired, Lomberg gets 36.5% and isn't? Dumb.

I still don't get the Lomberg love (and I love Lomberg and the type of game he plays).

Would I trade Philp away to obtain Lomberg? Nope.
Ditto for Schneider.
Definitely ditto for Foo if he wasn't set to become UFA after his KHL contract is up.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I wouldn't trade at least a few of the prospects still left on the board for him.

Following Lomberg, my vote will be going to Foo, Lindstrom and then Philp. Foo still has NHL potential, though probably not with the Flames.

I went with Lomberg. He's reminds me of Scott Nichol a little bit. Similarly to Lomberg, Nichol toiled in the AHL until he was about 26, then caught on with the Flames and surprisingly went on to play in the NHL for 11 seasons. Outside of an anomalous 22 goal season, he put up almost identical AHL numbers as Lomberg did.

Scott Nichol AHL: GP 398 -- Pts 203 -- PPG 0.51 -- PIMs Per Game 2.59
Ryan Lomberg A: GP 198 -- Pts 108 -- PPG 0.54 -- PIMs Per Game 1.78

Same size, both can skate, both small but scrappy. Both seem to be liked by the coaches and their teammates. I don't see a guy like Lindstrom as a better bet than Lomberg who has had a ton of exposure to the coaches and GM and continues to be offered contracts.

I have been voting Schneider for awhile now. I am not going to oversell him as he hasn't really shown a lot prior to last season. But last season he was the best goalie in Stockton and he is the same age as Parson's and is a fair bit younger then Gilles.

I agree. Schneider is way more likely to see NHL time than any of the other guys remaining, IMO. Well, other than Lomberg, but Lomberg has no upside from here.

Jeremy McKenna
Whether he should be on the list is debatable, but I'm voting based on the players that appear on the list.

One dimensional goal scorer but scoring goals is the most difficult skill in hockey. Excellent at getting open and finding gaps in coverage which allows him to get his hard and accurate shot off. Also terrific on the powerplay. But, his defensive shortcomings significantly reduce his probability of success. Hockey is full of junior snipers who didn't pan out, but there are a few who have turned into mighty good scorers. Over 5 shots per game is insane.

Ceiling: 2nd line W
Probable: Tweener
Floor: Outright bust

After McKenna I don't see anyone else as having anything more than a remote probability of playing above the third line. While McKenna has higher likelihood of busting than some others, his ceiling remains the highest. In other words, his error bar carries more variability.

This is the point in voting where ceiling, to me, starts to give way to playing any games at all in importance. This is also the point where prospects can make big gains or losses in a one-year period of time.
