Excellent return game from Denis and he breaks and is serving at 4-2 in set 3.
Edit: Consolidates the break from love-30 down and is one game away from a 2 sets to 1 lead

Shapo serves out the 3rd set to love. If he wins this match, he would likely face Charlie although he's in a tight match with Taro Daniel currently.

If Charlie loses this, some unseeded player is going to win this year.

Shapo only has 2 aces thus far in the match, but it looks to me like he's taking a bit of speed off the serve and aiming for bigger targets to make more first serves.

Shapo breaks again and is serving at 3-2 in set 4. Making some fine returns of serve today and putting a ton of pressure on his opponent.
Edit: Consolidates the break. Very solid play and keeping his opponent off balance.

Denis breaks Arnaldi to win the match and makes his first trip to round 3 of the French Open. Way to go Shapo!!

Bad start to the match for Leylah losing the first four games, but she started playing much better mixing things up and is back on serve at 3-4 in set 1.
Edit: Tauson takes the opening set 6-3. Leylah's toss on her serve is all over the place and is tough to watch.

Leylah breaks at the best time in set 2 (up 6-5) to force a 3rd and deciding set. Service toss was a little better in set 2, but still wonky. The rest of her game is looking pretty good, though.

Big hold from 15-40 down by Leylah to start set 3.

Leylah digs deep to force Tauson to serve it out at 5-4 in set 3.

Man, that's a tough loss as the draw opened up for Leylah and she also drops a bunch of ranking spots as well.

Seems to be a Canadian theme these days but she really needs to improve her serve if she's going to get back to the top 20.

That's a no brainer. The French is in a tough situation. Amazon plus other international tv paying big money it's hard to put only one women's match on at night.

At the risk of jinxing it, we could get Bianca vs. Iga which would be a no-brainer to put on at night.

They should have put Oudin-Jabeur at night.

Yes, I agree - Even Fritz - Rinderknech would have been preferable.

If they are afraid a women's match would be too short, why don't they do 2 women's matches? Max would be 6 sets
