So Iga isn't infallible after all - Barbora Krejčíková wins the title 6-4 6-2 - Also a nice run for Andy, but Medvedev just too good as he takes it 6-4 6-4
I’m enjoying the god tier athleticism now because that doesn’t last forever. I want to see how he’ll evolve his game for more efficient points over time the way the Big 3 did, and I think he’s well set up for that because of the all court aggressive mentality.
I’ll bold guess his main rival for slams for the next decade will be Rune.
Another young guy to keep an eye on is Jiri Lehecka, he really should have beaten Andy to face Medvedev in the final this weekend. He has a complete game (big serve, ground strokes are smooth, and not hesitant to come to net either). I think he will be in the top 20 before the end of 2023.
Carlitos was up a set and 3-love love-30 when he suffered a right knee injury. He can barely move out there and Norrie is about to break Alcaraz to serve for the championship.
Norrie takes the title in Rio 5-7 6-4 7-5. Charlie was playing on one leg for the second half of the match and did quite well just smacking winners as well as errors. What sucks is that he was scheduled to play Acapulco this week and that's not happening now.
I'm not a big Norrie fan as IMO he's a brutally effective pusher but I was impressed by his game this week as he was involved in a lot of excellent points. Alcaraz probably wins the match in straight sets if he doesn't get injured but hats off to Norrie for being steady enough to overcome what was a match full of momentum swings.
He didn't let that line call that went against him (the ball was clearly in even though Norrie thought it was out) bother him and just got right back to business. We've seen Denis have some pretty big blowups in the past in similar situations.
Andy Murray not playing this week in Dubai after a tough week in Doha
Nick Kyrgios is out of Indian Wells and Miami (still recovering from knee surgery)
Carlitos will travel to Acapulco, no decision yet on whether or not he will play
Djokovic has broken Stefi Graf's record for most weeks at #1. Pretty remarkable, every time I think he's finished he goes on to win a Grand Slam and become world#1 again.
With Federer and Nadal out of the way Djokovic should have at least 2-3 very productive years left as he's still head and shoulders better than the current generation that lacks that truly breakout player. He could end up with 25+ grand slams.

Doubt Nadal at Roland Garros at your own peril. This wouldnt be the first time he lost early at the AO only to win the French Open.
I want a healthy Alcaraz to play Djokovic more, there match last year was fantastic.
