Diego with that two handed backhand showing why it's much more effective than a single handed backhand vs Rafa. His left hand is able to direct that ball deep into Rafa's ad court. It pushes Rafa wider on his forehand. Opens up Rafa's deuce court.

Power’s back! Rafa looking a bit rusty. Why was the line person standing right in Diego’s way as he went to get his towel? He had to step around her? Also why does one ball person keep pulling his mask down?

C’mon Rafa!!

Lazy Djokerish drop shots, Rafa. Saving gas for next week maybe.

Diego up a break in set 2 serving at 4-3. Just a reminder that he is 0-9 in his career against Rafa.

Rafa is going to up the ante. This will be Diego's toughest service game yet.

This is crazy good tennis from Schwartzman - Yes, Rafa is rusty, but the consistent depth of the shots from Diego is giving Nadal all kinds of trouble.

Does anybody know what the record is for the number of times Rafa has been broken on clay?

From a rankings perspective, Diego can keep Shapo out of the top 10 if he wins the Italian Open.

Full credit to Diego he's a good player that has pushed Nadal in the past. Remember that one French Open when he was up a set and a break and then it rained and saved Rafa. Hopefully Shapo can win it now.

Does anyone know when the draw will be announced for the French Open? On the Men's side I think it will have a major impact on who wins as either Nadal or Djokovic would have to play Thiem in the semi final.

Not sure, but already the qualies are being hit hard by positive COVID-19 tests.
