I'm psyched to see this not for the obvious, this is the last flick that Heath Ledger was working on sentiment, but because the story itself looks so beyond surreal and awesome. I've been a fan of Terry Gilliam especially for his visual style and this one looks amazing for that. Btw, the Heath Ledger role was finished by Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farell.
The Contrabulous Fabtraption of Professor Horatio Hufnagel
No trailer yet.. given the 2011 release we probably won't see one for a while, but I just wanted to let anyone who cares know that Jackie Earle Haley, otherwise known as "Rorschach" in the movie "The Watchmen" has been officially cast as the hero/villain Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds.
I am pretty excited about this given the fact that I feel he did an amazing job with his character in "The Watchmen".

Trailers for the Clash of the Titans remake (Titans... Will... Clash!!....???) and Prince of Persia are up on the interweb (the usual places... AICN, Youtube, google, etc). Unsurprisingly both looking a bit like the Mummy meets 300 with some LOTR thrown in. That's trailers for ya though, and my arse will be firmly planted in a seat for at least the Titans remake if not both. Sorry if this is a repeat.
I don't know what to make of the new Clash movie. Worthington will be good, but that music is so bad. Could be better in a more modern type movie, but they needed more orchestral score for the trailer. Here's to hoping that the movie isn't complete tripe. One good part was the syncing of the scorpion stab with guitar. That was pretty awesome.
Prince of Persia? I don't know... Bruckheimer is behind it. He's usually gold for entertaining movies, so I'm on the wait and see boat until I see another trailer. Gyllenhall was miscast though. I would have gone with someone akin to Oded Fehr in my opinion.

I have been so stoked to see Shutter Island - Scorsese! And Leo DiCaprio, who I have thought has been fantastic in everything I have seen him in lately... it was supposed to come out this autumn but now it has been pushed back to February for some reason. February? They release all the leftovers and castoffs in February - what up with that? Anyway, I think it looks like it has potential to be really great - here you go:
Also, opening this coming Friday... Fantastic Mr. Fox - great voice cast including Clooney, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson; a lot of the usual suspects from the other work of director Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums). Grew up reading Roald Dahl, love everything the man wrote; definitely going to have a look at this movie:
I don't know how well Fantastic Mr. Fox will stick to the actual story by Dahl, but I still think it's going to be an awesome movie. I'm a big Wes Anderson fan.

I was just thinking the other day, somebody needs to re do Robin Hood!
Looks like it will be pretty good. Although Russell Crowe is a great actor, I don't know if he was the right choice for this part.

A new Alice in Wonderland trailer is out. Looks like classic Burton.

I'm really worried that Burton will once again butcher the story. He has a tendency to use established franchises to ensure box office hits but then doesn't stay faithful to the source material one bit.
I guess doing "re-imaginings" are kind of his thing though.
