Vegas loses a pretty good player.

I like it.

I think hails is definitely worth more than frolik. The premium price of cap space this year will definitely bring down the return for frolik. A fourth round pick at best is what I’m expecting.

Catastrophic knee injury to Haula puts his future potential very much in doubt.

Very similar to the injury that Mike Stone had prior to be traded to Calgary. IMO, it severely hampered Stone's mobility.

kinda tough to watch:

Looking at Roy he's 22 6'4" and about 0.5 pt/game in the AHL. I wouldn't mind this type of prospect for Frolik.

^Roy fell in his draft year, ranked in the 2nd rnd by almost everyone, and leading up to his draft yr as 1st talent. He subsequently crushed in his 2 yrs post draft, had a good WJC tourney in there as well. He was nearly a PPG in AHL playoffs as well, so Vegas did well in this trade as well.

Very good pick up by Carolina. They are benefitting a decent bit from teams being up against the cap.

for an expansion team to be in this cap situation just 2 years in is absolutely incredible. Having to dump a 2.75m player just to get under the cap after LTIR usage, holy cow.

could turn into an absolute steal for Carolina. All depends on Haulas health of course, but before the injury he had 29 goals and 55 points ... pretty good gamble for them, especially with only one year remaining on the deal.

The injury is concerning. Outside of that, I'd have looked at him to see if he could reignite Neal.

They went to the finals last year, and had a successful season last year.

Any good team will have cap issues.

They took on some bad contracts early to get some better assets/draft picks, and I'd say that has worked quite well for them.
