Flames Why we wear jerseys to the game

Sure, we want to support the team, support the player whose number we chose that night

BUT

don't we secretly hope, deep down inside, that something will happen to the player's jersey and the team comes to us and says Can we borrow that jersey for a couple of periods? Your jersey gets used, the team wins the game, you get the jersey back with a thankyou

Happened to this guy!

Does anyone remember when Fleury got too much blood on his jersey to play so he tried to put on a fan's jersey? The jersey had a bunch of autographs on it for one but it was also too small. So then he ended up wearing a #76 jersey that was probably three sizes too big for him.

Those draft wounds run pretty deep don't they?

They could have at least given him the authentic game worn jersey that didn't fit right too

Haha -- great story! The fact that its a Fanatics replica makes it even better.

I'll never forgive him. Never.

I love the Fleury clip. When he played he was so emotionally invested in the outcome that you couldn't help but go along for the ride.

I remember listening to Peter Maher describe that live.

I was at that game. I remember when they announced...”now wearing number 76, welcome back Theoren Fleury!” And then I remember wondering how the Flames didn’t have even one spare Fleury jersey.
