IMO Galiardi is a slightly better version of Comeau. He's smarter. But both players are fast skaters, good at grinding on the boards, and don't have crazy skill. I don't expect a ton more out of Galiardi than we got out of Comeau. In a way we traded one for the other as we shipped out Comeau for a 4th and got Galiardi at a similar price.

IMO Galiardi is a 4th liner on a great team. I think he can play 3rd line for us. But having him higher in the lineup is frustrating.

Flames are due for a win and after last game's dismal start I think we'll see a good start and win tonight.

Monahan looked good last game so I think he's due for a goal. Mikael Backlund needs to bust out and soon so I'm looking for something for him tonight as well, is 2 goals asking to much?

Flames win 5-3.

Anyone think the Flames are just doing Jackman a favour before they waive him?

Don't you get your pension after 400 games? Maybe they're playing him tonight and then letting him go after the game. Would be a nice gesture. I guess one can hope..

Flames got spanked by the townsend tigers yesterday. Time to show up and destroy the Stars.

Yup. But I still think Galiardi was a good pick up. Nice to finally have a Hitmen alumni as a regular on the Flames.

I thought that Bouma / Backlund / Galiardi was an effective third line when they tried it a couple of weeks ago. The Devils game (I think).

Oh, and BTW I think that D Jones is also a slightly better version of Comeau. So the Flames are getting slightly better all around !

They haven't stood a chance since the Phaneuf trade.

He was the only one that ever showed any heart in those games and regularly did his best to fill the Townsend Tiger net.

I love McGrattan and I can still see the reason (sometimes) to have a heavyweight in the lineup. Especially against teams like LA, STL, TOR etc. but I can't help but think of the additional offense teams could produce with some skill on the 4th line.

Blair Jones had 5 pts last night for Abbotsford. I'd imagine that a line of Jones - Backlund - Reinhart might be able to pitch in and score the odd goal.

I think McGrattan and jackman fill the same role and it's such a waste to play them both. Feels like bouma brings more to the table playing on that line with his shot blocking, speed and toughness.

Seriously Sportsnet? No sound? What a clown show. Do the Oilers manage this station?

NVM it kicked in.... late....
