Default Fridge/Freezer Troubleshooting Help

Hoping someone here might be an appliance expert!

We have a fridge with bottom freezer drawer. Fridge is still working fine, but freezer is no longer freezing. It is still cold inside but not cold enough to freeze anything.

I've done the youtube basics but haven't been able to diagnose the problem yet:

Cleaned the coils
Compressor still works
Condenser fan is working
Evaporator fan is working

Any thoughts or advice on what to check next would be appreciated!

Is it jam packed? If there is no room for the cold air to enter, that could cause it.

I can't deny that it was probably jam packed at one point. But we've had it empty for a few days, only ice packs in it, and they are not freezing.

We had a similar issue with ours a few years ago. It was a top freezer but same symptoms. Turned out to be the fan the circulates the air into the freezer was shot.

This is most likely the cause.

Check the evaporator fan as they do tend to have a shelf life and when they stop running, no cold air is expelled into the freezer.

Hmm interesting. There is certainly cold air blowing in. But I'll look closer at the evaporator fan. Thanks.

Have you unplugged it and left the doors open for a while? Like several hours? I am not an expert, but wonder if there is a possibility of ice buildup somewhere causing a blockage.
