His game isn't at all like Otto's was, Joel's was a shutdown get in your face defense first center who would always win the big draw and relied on his IQ and size , while not bad he also wasn't the greatest skater either.
Janko is a smooth skater, nice hands and a wicked shot/release, He reminds me more of a young Eric Staal when he broke into the league

Otto had softer feet though.

Not that long ago we used to call guys up and the popular refrain was they didn't look out of place. Now guys like Jankowski and Hathaway are actually making a difference in winning games.

I'm sure the vast majority of the board are too young to appreciate the reference, but I think an apt comparison for Janko is Pete Mahovlich.

I'm curious, but what does the Anti-Jankowski camp have against him?

I've yet to see a lot of anti-Jankowski posters. Some who were pretty cautious in their predictions, sure. But no one saying they didn't like him at all.
What I have seen is a lot of people feeling the need to mention Feaster whenever Jankowski does something good.

Yeah, was the first time I've actually seen anything negative.
Draft concerns make sense though. It was an odd move that's paying off!

I wasn't here (on CP) at that time, so there may have been a lot of complaints. It was an out of the box pick and IIRC Feaster had a lot to say about it. Plus, he's taken longer than normal after a draft to make the NHL. But he's going to be really good. It's a credit to Feaster and Weisbrod. And IMO it's got nothing to do with why they were fired. That was down to bad trades, generally poor development and the ROR fiasco.

First, second and third star: Mike Smith. Held them in a game they should have been trailing by at least two in the second, and then they get their chances.
