I don't believe she is dead.
I think this is a classic WD bait and switch, much like Carl and the Dumpster.
I reckon we will see her again.

I thought that too, with her saying something along the lies of "not being down until you are dead" or something like that. But this seems pretty clear...

There will be no eleventh hour twist to save Madison from certain doom, no dumpsters to hide under. Speaking with THR, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg (who took on the roles following the season three departure of co-creator Dave Erickson) made it clear that "Madison's story has come to an end," and that there is no wiggle room for any other interpretations.

Quote:
And just to state it plainly, you're confirming that Madison Clark is dead?
Chambliss: Yes.

I also hadn't realized Nick(Frank) wanted out. Good on him to not get character locked for to long.

hmmmm
I am not sure how I feel about this.
I will say it re-enforces my liking that no character appears to be untouchable.

According to Talking Dead, one of Althea's tapes was labelled "Abe/Doctor", as in Abraham and Eugene. I didn't catch it while watching the episode, but that's pretty cool.

This season has been MUCH better. The episode showing John's story was really good. Man I like that actor. Took me a bit to place him but he was a Terminator in The Sarah Connor Chronicles as well as a bad guy in Marvels Inhumans. He's bringing some awesome to the show.

Finally watched the mid season finale. Did that really mess up anyones elses concept of the timeline?
While solid overall. I had to LOL very loudly at the scene where Morgan and that girl walk into the room in the stadium to get medical supplies.....BOOM!! room they just walked into explodes. I'm thinking, wow, they just killed them off just like that. Nope! Just had to brush off some dust and they are good to go. WT actual F??
And how did Alicia just rip the door off that APC? I know it took a hit but c'mon.....

I'll never understand why every character wades into a pile of zombies brandishing a 4 inch knife.
You could kill dozens of them with zero effort.

anyone else watch the finale?
Morgan and his buddies are now the welcome wagon? Colour me unimpressed. Too neat and tidy.
Is there a chance this gets cancelled? I like some of the new characters but the story line was nonsense.

It's kinda all over the place. I really did think they were going to end up in Alexandria though. The character motivation to hang out here instead of going there doesn't make a lot of sense. The crazy lady didn't make much sense either. Last season was much better IMO.

The gator scene a few episodes ago was a great one, though.

It wasn’t a bad episode but I thought the ridicule of Lenny James and his Mo Mo nickname on talking dead was frikkin hilarious.
It’s amazing that there are only 2 original characters left.

Strand is a great character and basically the only reason I still watch.

Just watched the season premiere last night. IMO, it was already a notch up from last season and I enjoyed last season. It's gonna be sweet to see Salizar back in the fray and pretty cool to see Max Headroom in the game. Looking forward to watching the second episode tonight.
On a side note, WD is apparently planning a third series?

Last night's episode was ...ugh. After watching Chernobyl, I'm kind of a nuclear expert, so most of it really made no sense other than a forced plot point.

Good summary of this season sucking:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkai.../#3cdf83741b39
Last night was probably one of the worst. None of this makes any sense. The characters don't fit this altruistic morality at any cost tripe. Daniel going slowly to the SWAT truck, then not just walking around the other side was stupid. If it wasn't for the massive payoff with the plane, well, I dunno. It didn't make it worth it, but it was the one part of the episode this season that made me smile. The kids are ridiculous. I can't imagine a scenario in which they end up alone like they are, and not all zombie chow. The whole airplane plot was nonsense. The extremely brief radiation threat was silly. There is no reason for any of this to be happening. Almost all of the characters are impossible to care about.
I hate that this show got me back interested in season 3 and 4, then took this giant spin around the toilet bowl. Who is in charge of this train wreck? Fire them all, I say.

Oh, for those who don't watch the show, but do want to see the one worthwhile scene...

This season has been really bad. At this point I wouldn't recommend it.

After a massive 3 week break, it's back, and holy ####, did they ever let it fester over those 3 weeks. I thought the first half season was as bad as it could get, no way could they out due the stupidity of building a plane with no tools, finding gas on the top of a mountain, kids who survived for years by tying up walkers into chains without any weapons, or means to get food, radioactive zombies that threaten to kill you with one drop of their blood, and general hamfisted application of the "we are only here to help". It was bad really bad. Surely someone recognized this and would fix it.
But alas, no. This has to be the single worst episode of any walking dead ever made. They say that in story telling you should show, not tell. Well this was an entire episode of them telling, not showing. Except for the one part they did show, where it was supposed to be tense, except since they are all telling it you know everything turned out fine. The one saving grace was watching the walkers get blown sky high and raining down on Morgan in bite sized pieces.
I'm now locked in a mortal struggle between not quitting, or AMC canceling this thing. I must know what will come first. But AMC is really holding on here, it's getting tough! I have no idea how anyone involved in this project can watch it, read the reactions and think "Ya, this works!" It does not work. But don't take my word for it, Reddit hates it too....
