Johnny: Right now I'd like to describe some of the incredible action that's going on down here. A man we believe might be a customer has just come from freshening up, and it looks like he's... leaving. No, wait a minute, he's paused there; maybe he's going to chat with Del Murdock, personable owner of Del's Stereo and Sound... yes, he is. Maybe he's going to buy something, and he's...no, no, he's pulled out a gun...uh, for any policemen who might be listening, apparently we're being held up here at Del's Stereo and Sound...

If you guys are interested in learning about pinball, a friend of mine streams on twitch and is definitely worth a follow. We streamed a tournament from the Trap and Gill on Heritage yesterday.

Bumping this. There are 16 games available for play at the bowling alley at Century Casino.

I was visiting a friend who had a trove of pinball machines. Mandalorian, Deadpool, haunted house, Godzilla, Batman to name a few. The wife even kinda got into it. She doesn't really like video games and she knows it costs $5-20K per machine but inexplicably suggested we should consider buying one and that the kids might enjoy it.
I'm thinking to strike while the iron is still hot and kinda figure out if she was being serious or if she just got caught up in the moment. I have to admit, I've never really previously been interested in pinball, but it was way more fun than I had anticipated when in a basement setting.
A quick search and it seems like Pinbar is still a place to be and some place called Hidden spot? Any other suggestions? Perhaps one where I can bring kids and give them a turn while teaching them not to wreck the machines?
If I luck out... any suggestions on which to attempt to acquire? I saw that SML entertainment has a few machines and I'm leaning towards inquiring about Jurassic Park and Guardians of the Galaxy as finalists if indeed the wife inexplicably green lights a purchase. Any idea on ballpark costs for these ones? I'm assuming $15K
My Kids are 2 and 4... I'm not sure if that age and pinball is the greatest combination and it's insanely pricey for a spontaneous purchase... but I've never had my wife suggest such an idea before and I'd rather not miss out on an opportunity see how it ends up.

Do you know if you want a pro or a premium edition? Pros will be around 9-10k Premiums 13-15
Premiums have a few more bells and whistles. Cost is high but if well taken care of pins hold their value really well. Usually increase even.
If you are looking for new in box check out Nitro Pinball although I don't think the two you mentioned are in production at the moment.

Southern Music is pricey...if buying used you are better off buying it off someone used. Most people who buy these things take really good care of them. Let me know if you decide to pull the trigger I know a lot of collectors and can probably find you what you want for a fair price.

I think Pinbar is kid friendly before a certain hour. Best to call them to make sure.
The games that were at the Casino are at Hidden Spot now.
In terms of buying, there are groups on Facebook that buy and sell games locally. That's a million times better than SML. Nitro Pinball out of BC will ship to Calgary for a fair price, they are much better to deal with.

Didn't know about the Hidden Spot - that's a good tip.
Rec Room has a good line-up of pin too.
I had an opportunity to visit the penny arcade in San Francisco. What a treat. Probably the best collection of vintage games I've ever seen. Spent hours in there.
