Default Pre game meal, perhaps buffet Saddledome area?

Where is the best pregame buffet? I've had Mavericks and while it was alright, it was nothing special. Where do you guys fill up before the game?

The trick is getting a good pregame meal. The heroin beer sits much better on a solid base.

Buffet in the Avison Young Club is great...not sure if you have to be a club seat holder to get in or not though...

If you like vietnamese, Vietnam on 12th and MacLeod is good. They'll even let you park there if you eat dinner there and show an event ticket.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

The flood destroyed the only acceptable place for pre-game meal/beers.

Rest in peace Lion's Den.

Has anyone eaten at that new Vagabond place on the corner of 12th and 4th just north of the Dome?

Buffet? before a game.

Always questionable to eat unlimited amounts of food from a trough under a heat lamp before going out.

The Rotisserie at the dome is pretty good. We go there before almost every game.

Not a buffet, but The Drum & Monkey on first is my go to for pre game/concert meals. Have a few pints, a bite to eat and you it's a reasonable walk to the dome. Also lots of free street parking along 11th/12th ave after 6:00.

Is Mavericks closed? We tried to eat there on the 23rd and doors were locked, is this permanent or just some weird one off?

Mavericks was closed for Flames games before last season, and the whole Big Four building is under reconstruction after the flood.
