Maki, Flames finding their confidence (QC Online)

"The system and the style is the same, so we just had to keep working hard and knowing it was going to change at some point," Maki said. "We had some new players this season, and it's not going to happen in a snap. We had to wait to start feeling like a real family."

i really like watching maki play. i am not sure if he has a future in the nhl, but he works hard out there. compared to krissy kolanos, and kris suck-o, he actually knows how to forecheck. he works on the wall and plays a physical game for a smaller guy.

hey, i didn't say anything about scoring goals. i think in the other thread i explain my opinion pretty well... kolanos is a good talent, but doesn't seem to care out there. i think he would wipe the ice with these guys if he skated hard.

Maybe, but then we'd call him up.

Technically, Calgary can't call him up. He's signed to a one way deal. Isn't Calgary already at the 50 contract limit? Assuming you mean Kolanos, that is.

I believe, technically, any NHL team can 'call him up' by signing him to a contract. Philly found that out yesterday after losing Boucher to San Jose.

i know we are going a bit off topic with all this, but he would have had to have been on the roster by yesterday to be playoff eligible right? if so, i wonder if that will effect his play? perhaps he was playing for next year all along? hoping his point total would be impressive enough to get him a shot somewhere.
call me a pessimist, i just really don't have much faith in krissy.
