some skating/hitting updates were released in the last few days.. looks alright.
Will probably end up buying just because I find it a fun game to play off and on.

60 bucks doesn't really break the bank all things considered.. the worlds so god damn expensive now anyway.

Man, the game sucks. Like terribad.

Edit: change my vote. You have to re-learn how to defend. This game shows definte promise. Hope they let this play out and don't bow to the pressure and tune this back to the same old game.

I really like the tripping call frequency, along with the new skating. It actually feels different, some guys have super quick jump.

And I can't play because I don't have a Live account. That's pretty lame. Atleast let people who don't like multiplayer play the CPU.

My biggest ask for the new one is if there are expansion draft modes again, which I hope there is, that you can use updated and custom rosters. So frustrating having a roster all up to date with trades and whatnot, then to decide to play the expansion mode and all that work is out the window as you get to deal with Elliott, Bollig, Bouma and Wideman on the Flames still.

I know these kind of messages suck and I'm sorry... but it's hockey/NHL '19 related and for a good cause.

Did you know 22 military vets take their own lives everyday?

I want to bring your attention to a hockey military charity that's trying to lower that number by getting vets on the ice. Beer League Talk is working on an awesome project called CHEL-A-Thon 2018 for Skate for the 22 Foundation. Skate for the 22 is an organization that promotes military veteran suicide prevention and awareness.

The weekend that NHL ‘19 is released we will be playing and streaming it on Twitch for 48 straight hours. Don't worry, it’s not all video games! We will have prizes, live podcasts, & maybe some special guests as well.

We’d be so grateful if you shot us a follow on Twitch (Here's our Twitch Account) and supported the event. If you’re interested in getting involved, here's more info

Oh and yes... this is an American charity so Canadians won't be able to get tax incentives but I'd still be so grateful if you wanted to be involved in the event.

Thank you so much.

Sure disappointing that the beta doesn't have any offline modes, I sure would have liked to try it.

I hope that's not an indication that the devs ignored offline play and it's the exact same game as 18 in that regard

Was there offline modes in the '18 beta?

I don't know about last year or if I even bothered downloading it but I recall being able to play offline mode in past betas.

Not that I know of but that would be pretty fun to put together.

A 16 minute video on scouting? Sheesh.

And it's about time, scouting was so dull before it may as well have not even be in the game. Happy to see they revamped it

Agreed that the scouting engine in previous years was atrocious but moving on to managing 20 Scouts throughout the year doesn't really invoke excitement and inspiration. I don't really feel like playing a video game to manage employees.

I appreciate the complexity of what they're trying to do. Franchise mode is big and there's a lot of moving parts with fans all over the map about what they care about and what they don't. Scouting is not on my radar though, so that's a bit of a bummer.

If anyone is interested, there’s an NHL 19 Tournament at Billy’s Sports Bar (Attached to the Comedy Cave downtown) on September 15th...
