You're looking at what they're capable of. GG is getting them to outchance their opponent night in and night out. Problem is they don't have the horses to turn chances into goals.
Monahan is not a top center on a contending team. A 35 year old Giordano is not the #1 D on a contending team. Michael Ferland is not a top line RW on a playoff team. Hamilton and Brodie are not a #2/3 D on a contending team. Stajan, Brouwer and Familton should not be on an NHL team.

Go down with your GG ship? I don’t know if anybody on this board is that heavily invested in the team are they?
People are entitled to their opinions and just because it doesn’t match yours or a lot of others at the moment isn’t that big of a deal is it?

I don’t know what this means but sounds like you are hoping for the Flames to lose

Look I don't think GG is a great coach...they also didn't lose a shootout because of him
They had plenty of point blank chances and the PLAYERS on the ice failed to convert

A loss that made the team gain two spots in the standings. So I guess there are different kinds of losses after all.

That Brodie to Tkachuk chance in OT was the game. Jones made an insane save.
Build off a strong road game despite losing a key player and having to shuffle lines for the last 50ish minutes, AND with your backup goalie in net. Take it to Anaheim tomorrow.

Team struggles to win in regulation because of GG. You're right not a great coach.

How this basic fact is ignored by so many with an axe to grind...

Yep. It's pretty glaring how uninvolved the D is in the offense. Not just in adding to the rush but also in zone. I rarely, if ever, see the defence sneaking down for shots or helping the cycle. I don't like/agree with this philosophy especially with the players we have on the back end. CGY should be getting contributions to offense like NSH gets from their defence.
Has to be a philosophical decision from the coach.

Didn't lose a shootout because of him, but are in a position where one point against a division rival on the road isn't good enough because of his nonsense line calls and poor power play.

On paper this team should be battling for the division in my opinion. Also on paper, Las Vegas should be bottom two in the NHL, not leading the Western conference.
The Flames are still in the playoff race it’s not like they’re done and dead.

This was a very good game IMO. The Flames were deserving of a better fate, both in Regulation and OT. Frolik out affected the lines and interrupted the flow of the Flames' game some, plus they played a little too much protection in the third (but a lot of teams do that).

At least the Flames got a point out of this. Getting 3/4 points on the road in SJ and ANA is a huge win in my books. Just get those next two points please.
