I thought Jack Black's Bowser voice was enough of a departure from his regular voice acting that it sounds like he put some effort into it.

Chris Pratt sounds awful though. I get that having the actual Mario voice for an entire movie would be painful to listen to... but there are actual talented voice actors that would be 1000x better than hiring a "name" who isn't good at voice acting...

Not a movie, but the nostalgia in this trailer is off the charts. I worked in video stores for almost a decade when I was a younger lad, including Blockbuster for 4 of those years. This looks like a fun series.

Charles Martinet is credited in the movie so as long as Pratt gives some cartoony Brooklyn accent while Martinet hits the signature lines it should be okay. The Penguins returning was a pleasant surpirse

They couldn't win with this anyway. Do the voice, Internet complains. Don't do the voice, Internet complains.

Ah we'll see if this replaces Elf as the go-to Christmas movie in our family.

Could use a new Christmas movie to make its way into the rotation since it's been a while. Doesn't look like that's it, but we'll see.

Me too. Worked at a couple different video stores through college and then my first job out of Uni was in the marketing department of Rogers Video.

When I watch that trailer I can literally remember exactly how those stores smell.

But a better watch is the actual documentary about the Last Blockbuster. Worth watching.

Oh man, I love A Christmas Story so much. I hope this is good. I've never watched the other knock-off sequel.

Fond memories of the 24-hour A Christmas Story Marathons on AMC, TBS, or whatever high number channel it was on in the early 2000s.

I don't see how it can be anything other than disappointing, but I'm still in.

Apparently, there are already two sequels:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Christmas_Story_2

And:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Summer_Story

They both ignore the events of the other, and this third sequel likely ignores the events of these films.

Two great actors in this one, he hasn't really had that in an opponent yet IMO. This should be good.

Looks like the same hot, CGI garbage that the first one did to me.
