I'll still like him. Not sure if id cheer for him. I have a hard time imagining winning the cup as a late season rental would really feel that special.

I grew to hate fleury after he was traded. he stuck it to the Flames quite a few times after he left.
Therefore I think I will grow to hate Iggy too when he moves along.

I wish Iginla well in whatever he does. He's a tremendous person and has done so much for the community there's not enough space to type it here. I'm grateful for everything he's brought to this city and it will never be forgotten.
However, I only have allegiance to the Flaming C. I cheer for the logo on the front and not the name on the back.

Are we all afraid of losing the one player that kept this team relevant for the past 16 years?
Everybody will remember Iggy as a Flame, first and foremost. Sure they might bring up his cup win with the Penguins in 2013 but he will always be remembered as the greatest player the Flames have ever had.
But, that can all change if he decides to play for a new team every season a la Brett Favre.. but I don't see him doing that. He's too classy. He won't force his family to move out of Calgary and chances are after he (hopefully) wins the cup this season, he'll rejoin the Flames as a UFA.
Go Iggy Go!

I'll hope he has personal success wherever he goes. I'll probably hope his team has success too, but there are several teams that I couldn't root for under any circumstances.

It would be hard if he went to Philly or Boston, and almost impossible if he went to Edmonton (although cannot really see it), but there are a lot of eastern conference teams (sadly including the leafs) that I would be cheering on all the way.
I'd be cheering to see him win a cup and then come home to Calgary for the rest of his career.

Not sure the same would apply to Iggy. He's a much more classy, and respectable player then Fleury was.

I will most definitely cheer for Iginla if he gets traded and hope he wins a cup. I will not cheer any less for the Flames but will have a second favorite team while he plays away from the Flames.

i'll cheer for him and hope he gets his cup, as long as it ain't with another canadian team.
Not sure i'll buy a jersey of his that isn't a flames jersey.
Though his flames jersey that i have will be that much more dear to me.

It would be the one and only exception in this lifetime, I would cheer for the Canucks if he was shipped there. Iggy has given his heart and soul to this franchise, and deserves a chance to win a cup no matter where he goes.

I'm surprised some here wouldn't support Iginla. It would be very difficult if he was on the Canucks but it would serve as the lone positive of them winning the cup so yes I would support him on any of the 29 other teams. When the Wings won a Stanley Cup with Vernon in net it was a special moment for me and I don't like the Wings.

I'd rather him say he has no plans on re-signing here so that they can trade him, rather than saying he's not sure what he wants and then losing him for nothing.
He better either re-sign before the deadline or get dealt.
If he doesn't waive his NTC and then leaves in the summer for nothing I will be severely PO'd.
And to answer the original question. IMO Iginla is a class act and I support him and believe he will do what he thinks is best.

There are teams that I like and teams that hate. If he gets traded to a team I like, I will continue to like them. If he gets traded to a team I hate I will continue to hate them. If he gets traded to a team that I don't really care for, I can see them becoming a team I like.
