With the Islanders goaltending, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see this go 7. Perhaps an upset as well.

The Isles are still missing Barzal but they do have Sorokin and we’ve seen how great goaltending can take a team far in the playoffs. I still think the Canes will take this series

Canes in 5. Isles are missing their best offensive player and although they have goaltending egde and play a very defensively sound system, Canes can play a shut down game with the best of them.

This is a series where there might be 12 total goals scored. Canes swept the Isles when they met in 2019. I think Canes prevail here in 5.

I wouldn't be surprised this series goes to 7th game, and I also wouldn't be surprised they are all 1 goal game.
I have a soft spot for the Islanders

I have to agree with you, I think the Hurricanes have the Isles number and it could be another sweep here.

I’ll be going to game 2 for this one!
I think the Canes have more offensive power, but I trust in Sorokin a lot more than Andersen and Svechnikov is out for the season. I still think Carolina has what it takes to win 4 games though. It’s beyond the first round where it gets murky for the Canes.

This looks like it could be the most boring first round series. I think the Canes should win in 6 as Sorokin may be good enough for two Islanders wins but I don't know if he's going to be enough to shut the door as the Hurricanes play low scoring hockey better than the Islanders do.
