Definitely a good situation they've got brewing there. An increasing number of mentally incompetent boomers who are armed to the teeth and who consume a steady diet of right-wing propaganda that stokes their paranoia about how dangerous the world around them is.

That leaded gas of the 1960’s is really haunting us now.

We probably shouldn't allow them to vote anymore.

Settlement reached. Curious to see the details. I assume there must be a pretty strong admission.

Hope so, if only to see Trumps head explode

But in remarks delivered outside the Wilmington, Delaware courthouse, officials and executives from Dominion said Fox had agreed to pay the company $787.5 million — nearly half of what the company had sought in trial. “Fox has admitted to telling lies about Dominion,” said John Poulos, Dominion’s CEO.
damn, that's some pretty serious cash.

Settlement is a bad result though isnt it? Now all the juicy details get hidden and Fox can resume their slimy business as usual.

Depends on the settlement, maybe a public admission of things is part of it.

I’d be incredibly disappointed if there are not public apologies and/or retractions as part of this settlement

It should not be about money, but the ethics. Fox and its ilk are having a corrosive effect on the media, and in turn, peoples’ trust in the media.

While I have my doubts on the level of intelligence the average Fox News viewer has, the incessant lies being drummed into their skulls doesn’t take a lot to make the jump from speculation to fact

I mean even a retraction is pretty anti-climactic unless it's a public statement once every day during prime time for 60 days or something.

A full trial would have been in people's faces for forever.. printing a one time retraction won't have the same effect.

Mind you I guess it's maybe a fantasy that anything would have any effect.. people who watch Fox are just going to say it's the system that made Fox say the truth was lies.

It'll be spun as a win for Fox, that Dominion must have "blinked."

We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems. We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false,” Fox said in a statement. “This settlement reflects Fox’s continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards.
Disappointed. Was really hoping that Fox would be exposed for the poisoning of mindsets

With Dominion’s goal being to protect its reputation at the very least Fox must have to admit they lied and apologize or I’ll be disappointed. I wanted Tucker Carlson to be fired but that’s an unreasonable expectation. I also wanted the financial settlement to be over a billion dollars. This settlement appears kind of meh.

Have they not gone after Newsmax and OWN as well? Or was this the test case? I would think the other (even worse) networks would have been saying even more lies and probably couldn't absorb a settlement like this.

787 million settlement.

But that number is inflated probably to insulate their personalities from having to publicly state anything

Trump's whole schtick is The Big Lie. His 2024 campaign riffs off of it. Does Fox drop him like a hot potato?
