Kris Versteeg and the Calgary Flames are putting the finishing touches on a 1 year contract to keep Versteeg with the Flames. $1.75 mil.

Clearly he wanted to stay here, he could easily get a 3 year deal on the open market.
Maybe we can get a few vets signing 1 year deals for a chance to win.

I wasn't that keen on this until I re-watched AC's Monahan highlights. Versteeg made a lot of skilled setups on Mony's goals.
1 year at 1.75m is a no brainer IMO.

I love the player for that price. Good power play specialist that can fill a 3rd line offensive winger slot well.
I'd take him over Iginla or Doan to be honest.
I hope we can still make a run at Marleau, but not if he wants more than 2 years.
