It's definitely just Monahan's head on someone's body - you can see that from the Adam's apple. It would make sense if it was his head on Gelinas' body, but the gloves stand out:
So I can only think that this poor guy went through the effort of adding 23 and the 'A' to someone else's body... and then the detail of the hand-written 23 on the gloves? Or did Gelinas wear Eastons that year?
This thing is a vortex of time-wasting.

That third jersey shoulder patch from a few years ago is cool as a shoulder patch, but my god does it suck as a main logo.

I agree, I think the Prairie patch is too busy to be a main logo. Just too much going on to give someone familiarity and recognition of who the logo belongs to.

lol yes but these extra shades and colours make the jersey really noisy. All of the best jerseys in the NHL are 2-3 colours (with the third colour being very minimal). I can't think of any good jerseys with 4 colours/shades.
If you think of the classic original six jerseys they're all basically two... Granted they have time and nostalgia on their side.
Also - in my previous post I meant to say remove the white or yellow (not red). The current Black C jerseys without the white or yellow would be pretty good I think.
