DeVone Claybrooks was back at McMahon Stadium on Friday.
After more than a week spent recovering from a diabetic reaction, the Calgary Stampeders defensive co-ordinator was back out on the field for Friday morning’s practice.
“I’m well, I can’t complain,” Claybrooks said. “Had a little diabetic scare, but everything worked out good. My mom’s here, bossing me around like I’m 10-years-old again, so other than that, life’s good.
“Gotta make some life changes as far as my diet and that type of thing, but other than that, blessed.”
I feel really, really bad for him. Was on track for a monster season in the range of 1500 yards and double digit TD's. Worse was that the hit happened blocking on a run play which is not typically how you expect to get a season ending injury.

Yeah, the way he was playing it seems like he was on a mission to make amends for the fumble in last year's Grey Cup game. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and a return to playing sometime next season.
I just hated Richards game last week, he looked weak on the run block, and his kick steps on pass blocking were atrocious.
He was almost straight up and down, and he was turning his upper body on it. A good kick step is everything to a tackle just like a strong hop and pop is every thing to a guard.
At least they're keeping him on Bo's front side, but I'm not all that enamoured with Bone Crusher over the last two weeks.
For those wondering about the kick step

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
That is very good news indeed - As I said earlier, with the bye week coming up, it should provide adequate practice time to assess his health and determine when he's able to return to game action.
