Tried to do a Door Dash order for this sandwich. after about 30 minutes they cancelled my order. I guess they are getting slammed (this was the location off of McKnight).

I walked over to the 17th Ave location, and it was going to be a major wait. I'm not waiting over half an hour for a chicken sandwich.

Had the same experience. Tried both, was extremely disappointed in the popeyes sandwich but loved KFC’s. That one sets the bar high for a fast food chicken sandwich.

Maybe it's that particular location? The one in Lethbridge, the chicken is always crispy. I also prefer the spicy to Mary Brown's, who just seems to pour some cayenne pepper on the chicken afterwards, so the flavor isn't spread out.
But for me, I choose Popeyes first, then Mary's.
Although if Mary's released their "Tender" app from the commercial, I would order it more just to use the app.

So apparently the salt is a bit on the extreme side. 1700mg?

God, I cannot wait to Calgary and have more chicken options than KFC, Mary Browns and Popeyes. Not that I don't love the latter two

For fried chicken (not sandwiches), try any of the Korean chicken establishments. Olive Chicken, Yum Yum, Wow, KTown, ...

Ogam is really good too.
Had Broaster Fried Chicken last night. It was nice but needs a bit more seasoning in the mild and spicy.

As others have mentioned, Korean Fried Chicken is where it's at.
Olive Chicken, Wow, and K-Town are my favorites

How’s Fritou? Only hand it from the one on 1st after a ‘long’ night so I don’t really recall if it was as delicious as I remember.

Pretty close to KFC, but not as greasy or salty. Better quality chicken too. I have only tried the NE location.

Nah, from reading lots of reviews across Calgary it's become clear that it should treated as individual location reviews. Fritou Canyon Meadows? ****ing awesome. But you ask someone in McKenzie Towne about Fritou and it's terrible.
I think they must give a lot of leeway to franchises on how to make it and sell it. For example Fritou in Canyon Meadows has zero in common with KFC, zero.

I spent a lot of enjoyable time eating chicken from there in that parking lot.

Fritou opened up a shop on West 85th. New franchisee, but I thought they did a great job. And I was sober.

Tried the new sandwich and I have to agree with some that it's disappointing. 60% fried breading, 40% chicken. I did like the sauce, though.
