It's for their Galaxy and Note 10.1 tablets.

That said, Windows is getting closer to gaining my interest. Maybe they will come out with something good when the 5s gets outdated. I think having microsoft swallow up all of the world's business-anthropologists is starting to pay off.
Yeah, Samsung puts that horrible TouchWiz on top of Android and it's really not all that pleasant to be honest. I wouldn't consider an S4 myself personally. The best version of Android is pure Android that's on Nexus devices and the worst, by far, is whatever that steaming pile of crap LG just did with their latest phone.

Windows is interesting, I like that design and it will be interesting to see where they go with the Nokia purchase.

Totally agree. Do not use Touchwiz or HTC Sense as an indicator of how Android works...Touchwiz is just awful.

What exactly is the difference? I have an s4 and it seems fine to me

I do like some of TouchWiz's features, but it just really bogs the phone down.

The pure Android devices are infinitely better than the ones that the manufacturers and/or carriers are allowed to mess around with.

When it comes to phones, there are usually four layers involved...

Hardware
Operating System
Manufacturer Settings Applications
Carrier Settings and Applications

The goal is (ideally, at least) to minimize the amount of stuff between you and the hardware layer. The OS layer is a necessity, but the final two are not. Those are the layers that are most responsible for crashes, poor performance, locked-out features, etc etc.

Yup, this. I like what Samsung and HTC have done in some aspects. They've both added cool camera features on top of Android but for the most part it's annoying bloatware.

Not saying the S4 is a bad phone, it's not for me but I wouldn't say it doesn't work great for you, TouchWiz just rubs me the wrong way.

I guess I can't imagine an appreciable difference. That's purely my imagination as I haven't tried it without and I'm not comfortable doing any sort of Rom thingy. I turn most of not all of those features off anyways, but I've only ever used an s2 and now an s4

I think TouchWiz works better with the Note phones, especially the multi-window and stylus features. I'd like to see stock Android incorporate multi-window especially for tablets.

The new features in the Note 3 are really quite well polished. Like Sony being able to have some floating tabs for a webbrowser, calculator etc. Is just a neat thing to have.

Tried an Alpha with the Cornerstone project and while it was occasionally useful with having two applications going on at once with my tablet, I honestly didn't find a whole ton to run at the same time.
