After just missing out on a starting goalie in free agency, the Rangers were forced to make a trade for the most important position. After several days of negotiations, the Rangers and Tampa were able to agree on a trade.
To TB:
Claude Giroux
Carl Hagelin
JF Berube
To NYR:
Scott Darling
Brandon Dubinsky
Colton Sceviour
It hurts giving up a sim stud like Giroux but I needed a starting goalie and I think Darling has the potential to be the next Jones or Talbot. Dubinsky will slide right into the 2nd line center position and Sceviour will give me a bottom forward who can play a few minutes. This is a good ol'fashion hockey trade as it helps both teams. Thanks to Drew for the talks.
That's a risky move with potential to be a damn steal. I like the aggression. Good deal.

Tampa has a number of 3rd and 4th line forwards. getting a top line guy like Giroux was key. Also saving some cap was a big factor as well. Good deal for both sides we thik
