Honestly, the long trailer for the show didn't do it for me, but I still wanted to give it a chance. There is a fine line with campiness in a show. They have just enough to make it a positive. I was worried that it would be overbearing, but it isn't.

Watched the series after reading about it here (I don't know anything about the game) and I actually really enjoyed it. It started off pretty campy and ridiculous but once I figured out what was going on I quite enjoyed the sinister angle at the end and the set up for season 2.
It's weird to be in a CP thread and find total agreement. I figured someone would be displeased by now.
Anyway, may as well burn through some "thanks" for the Fallout apprecianatos!

Fallout is not heavy on the dialogue.

How cool is it that a production was made from base material that they never had to re-tell or adhere to in terms of a told story.
Essentially, Bethesda and Amazon found a way to tell an entirely new story that can't be spoiled from the source material while also fully utilizing the source universe and, somehow, making it essential to the story-universe.
I'm sure there's other examples out there, but this is the equivalent of the Animatrix to the Matrix.

how does Moldaver survive 200 years? She wasn't a Vault-Tec exec or a ghoul, so how did that happen?
It's not explained yet, and since some of theories floating around involve concepts not yet introduced from the games I won't speculate. However (not potential game spoilers):

She clearly has some kind of connection to Vault 4. They call her the Fire Mother or something and have that ritual. It also looks like she is connected to the New California Republic.
Could be cryogenics - she may have infiltrated Vault 4 or something similar. They also talked about working on a life-prolonging drug, which may or may not be the ghoul formula.

I'm not a gamer so I never played it but this series was a whole lot of fun. I was a little wary when I watched the "coming this season" that was shown after the end of episode 1 but this show really grabbed me.
Just a fantastic series. Love the new story. Albiet it borrows plot elements from all the games, but its a new overall story.
I also love how they made the show accessible, yet stayed so faithful to the charm and environment of the games. I was worried non gamers would WTF the 1940 and 50 esthetic in mid-2000z
I chuckled at lots of ester eggs all over the show. The Red Rocket was a great nod to the games, super duper mart was my favorite part of Fallout 3.
Anyways next season has me smiling on location. Cant wait
Watched the first episode - using Prime for pretty much the first time since Amazon introduced ads. We had just one ad before the episode started, but thankfully no ad interruptions during the episode itself.
Was just wondering if that's everyone else's experience or if Amazon will throw more ads at you in the middle of episodes as you keep watching the series?
