Looks really good. Im hoping this takes away from COD MW3 sales as activision needs a lesson taught to them.

You really have to start playing right at launch day otherwise its a pain to get the unlocks while everyone else has superior weapons. I know for sure that discouraged a few of my friends who started late.

I haven't played a FPS since BF2 and this one looks enticing. Too bad the wife's rule of no shooting games isn't a hill I want to die on.

Oh man! I put the foot down early and said "Honey, I'm going to be killing people on the TV. Many people. And most of them will be in their teens."

For sure.
Something her Dad taught her about guns being tools and not toys.
Like I said, not a hill I want to die on.
She gets mad about Oblivion etc as well, but that is just crazy talk. It's not like there are real swords available for my kids to play with.

I really don't want to derail this thread but dude that's blowing my mind.
Are you allowed to watch TV or movies with guns?
What about her boobs? Are you allowed to touch them? Technically they are tools and not toys.

I'm really not trying to be rude - but all of this is crazy talk. I can see she doesn't want you playing it in front of the children but once they're in bed - what's the issue?

I do get this though - some battles aren't worth fighting; but if my wife tried to control my video games - this would be my Hamburger Hill.

that's just pathetic, your wife decides for you which games you can play.... did they remove your testicles before or after the wedding?

No TV with extreme violence when the kids are awake, thats for sure. Some shows, like Flashpoint, have guns but it isn't about violence, so we typically would watch a show with them around but if an episode is particularly violent we just pause the show and continue after the kids are in bed.
As for the boobs part, you do know about being married right? Of course they are off limits!

Well that is a productive comment.
If you really want to know, my wife and I decide what we want our kids exposed to. I am not saying I fully support her position, but I am happy with my very limited gaming time to play other games. Truth be told, I actually suck at FPS, so it isn't a huge loss for me. EDIT: Actually I just found my BF2 stats ( http://bf2s.com/player/58519271/) - Certainly not an example of a high end payer
Let me tell you a story. I went out shooting with my nephew, who was an avid CS player, to teach him about real guns. As any logical person knows, with real weapons, you need to respect the fact that the gun can hurt someone and rules need to be followed. Despite all the prep work we did with him, the first thing he did when he pulled the gun from its case was point it at another child and scream, "BOOM, Headshot!"
Now that isn't going to happen with every kid, but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to realize that his gaming made him think guns were toys and made him lose respect for how dangerous they were.

MW3 will suck the big hairy old ones. Honestly, IW was gutted when most of their team left.
For the record Activision has 4, yes 4 development studios working on the Call of Duty franchise.
Infinity Ward
Treyarch
Sledgehammer Games
Raven Software
And that doesn't include the other 3-4 studios who pitched in over the years to help out.
Seriously, Activision can go screw themselves. 4 development studios for one bloody game, beyond pathetic.
Not to mention Raven Software (who does the online portions) is a terrible developer and makes pretty bad multiplayer, ie. everything they have done.

+1
I was skeptical about Black Ops after MW2 but figured id give it a shot... pretty much reinforced my idea that COD sucks now and another developer needs to step into that style of FPS. Hopefully BF3 is good because BC2 just didnt look that great to me.

Considering that I love to fly planes, I've been surprised at how much I've liked BC2. Possibly more than BF2, although Desert Combat and DCX were the best Battlefield variants ever.
Also, http://bfbc2.statsverse.com/ updates stats pages much faster than the other site.
Also, as you can see, I'm not very good.

Did you actually play BC2 or just looked at screenshots and deduced from there?
