We're thinking about sit down pizza in Marda Loop tonight and your post reminded me about there being a Mash there... How is it?
Or does anyone have any other suggestions for sit down pizza in Marda Loop?

I've tried Royal Pizza in Signal Hill and while it was good, it didn't make it into our regular rotation.... I'd definitely say it's worth a try.
FWIW, I feel the same way about Bow Tie... good, but just not in the rotation.

Probably too late for a recommendation but Garrison Pub has pretty good pizza.

Went to Bear St. Tavern in Banff, and the Viva La Pizza was delicious. Had really good chorizo sausage on it, drizzle of spicy olive oil and honey. Will definitely go back.

Really weird, this is what I ended up with and it was really bad. Maybe a bad night? I didn't pony up for the Detroit style 'sauce on top' pizza, is that the one that makes it worth it?

Hmmm... which pizza did you get?
I usually get the pickle pizza and the veggie one with the sauce on top. Been excellent everytime I have been there. Last time I was there was about a month back. I can't imagine it going downhill in a months time.

I see. TBH, I've never tried the pepperoni pizza. Did you get the circle pizza or the Detroit style square pan pizza?
Btw, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I really hope it was a one off.

Got the regular circle pizza. I figured a lot of the hoopla was because of the square Detroit style pizza, so I probably should have went that route. I"m all about second chances if it's a good place that everyone likes, so I will maybe try again but get a true Detroit style.

My favourite pizza place in Calgary is Tommy's in Canyon Meadows and because I order a bunch of times per year I''ll have one or two per year that make me think "****, If I was a new customer I'd give a 2 star review and never return".
Which is why I don't give two star reviews and never return to a place I've only tried once.

I saw that place while running errands today! I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm in the area.

They made a downgrade on cheese during Covid unfortunately, but still really good. Definitely give it a try!

For anybody down in the south, I had Pizza 64 over the weekend (Shawnessy). It wasn't world changing or anything, but as far as greek/East Indian style, it was more than solid. Great option when you don't want one of the chains and Sammy's is too busy.

Bro, imma have to stop all your pizza recommendations in this thread, they're all bad, lol. Had Pizza64, it was your typical "this is good if you're drunk late at night" pizza. It was pretty bad as an actual option. CPU? lol
I mean, if I could taste a good example of this "east indian" pizza kick you're on I'd be on board, but I'm going to need something way better.

Haha, pizza is art... nobody will ever be fully in agreement. In fairness, anybody who takes what I have to say with more than an ounce of seriousness is always in for a tough time.
Part of my personal problem is I like a ton of stuff. Movies, Tv, books, food... I'm like Ralph Wiggum playing with a mailbox.

Just got back from holidays in Nova Scotia, I had pizza at two "less than classy joints" but holy crap they were both amazing, huge, cheap and full of flavor. So, can someone explain why east coast pizza is 100 times better than anything Alberta can offer, is it the ingredients, Alberta's altitude for cooking or just dummy's who don't know how to make it?
