I see I'm not the only one. I tried Bow Tie a year or 2 ago (Centre Street) after so many recommendations and wasn't impressed at all. The pizza looked great and had lots of toppings but it just tasted like meh. Tossed out the last couple of pieces.

That is the most damning review of a pizza ever.

It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the hype. It reminded me of a slightly better version of Boston Pizza. The regular dough was chewie, and the sauce was way too sweet (I had the regular dough, my wife is GF). But We got it mainly because we heard their gluten-free crust was the best in the city. Not even close - honestly, Panago's is better. It seriously tasted like cardboard. We've tried a lot of GF crust in Calgary, and Bow Tie's might be the worst.

Same here.
We have friends that raved about it again and again, so we've tried it a couple of times and... nope. Strangely, those same friends ordered it one night while we were at their place and it was way better... Tried it again ourselves a couple weeks later and... nope.
No matter, our pizza rotation is pretty full, but always willing to add in another.

Costco started selling mini-naan breads. Add a spoonful of pizza sauce, a little ball of bocconcini, sprig of basil, and a slice of a pizza pepperoni, and you have some delicious super-mini-pizzas.

I like Bowtie, but there's a couple must's when ordering I've found.
Order it well done. This is an option to select if ordering online. The other is selecting the Spicy sauce. Much better overall.

My wife brought me a sweet and spicy sausage home from Calgary tonight. Gotta say Estoria's is as good as ever!

So glad to have this in my neighborhood! I’m ashamed/not ashamed to admit we’ve ordered from there at least once a week since we got got back from vacation in August.

Had Bow Tie from the Center Street location. Got the New York Pepperoni well done and it was fantastic. Between myself, my 5 year old and my 2 year old we finished the whole thing in one evening. (Yes I probably accounted for 60% myself but so what)
Was an easy 9 out of 10 and miles ahead of my first experience with Bow Tie

Paul’s is good pizza but the owner is antivax and homophobic (and probably worse things) so I stopped getting it. I had Niko’s tonight and it’s still my favourite.

Raising money for Rebel "Media" should be reason enough to avoid it. But I also remember some stories about him last year, and they were not a good look.

what is it about making pizza and being a weirdo. is that Pizza Bob guy still nutty too?
speaking of pies that are not made by Freedom Pizza dummies, I enjoyed 8 Mile, it fed me for days. and I had Mitillini's in Silver Springs recently as well, that fat crust is like a warm hug from simpler times.

What’s with pizzerias? Paul’s, WOP, POW. All disturbed.
Paul’s FB is also pure trash.

Not sure if they think they’re being funny with the LGBT comments or mean-spirited. I haven’t tried the place and have no intention to ever try it.

They have said somewhere that they are, or at least share the same philosophy.
