Maybe the timing of the passes is just off, or the primary passes for the breakout are too well covered, leaving the defensemen to either try and carry the puck out of our zone, or revert to a less effective outlet pass to avoid forechekers?
I'm going to try and count how many passes are made from defensemen to forwards skating back through the neutral ice and towards or into our zone tonight.

Simply put, we're missing the Brodie Breakout Pass(TM).

It's scary if we only have one defenseman who can execute a breakout pass...

Maybe Brodie just needs to remind the others how it's done and then all will be well.

Digging the forward line changes they've made. Could be a good spark for Bennett.
Please don't rush Brodie back. If he says he is playing through pain, don't play him. Let the injury heal 100%. Long term health beats out trying to win right now.
I'm indifferent to which goalie gets the start. I will say that you might have to let them play more than one game in a row to get rolling though. I feel a part of the problem is the one on one off rotation.
Don't care about a win tonight, but some consistent effort would be a pleasant sight tonight.

I need a win tonight. This has been a rough go for this Flames fan. I need this.
Come on boys.

A few things to like. Brodie returning would be huge, love the look of the line shake ups (especially the top 2 lines) and Hiller has solid career numbers against the Sens. Feels like a win here. Good vibes, good vibes (worked last time).

Don't know if this is being talked about. But got a message from NHL app saying JG is moved to the 2nd line. Who's he playing with and who moves up?

Johnny could be moved to a line with Stajan and Bollig and and it would be the first line.

Bennett at centre, Frolik on RW.
The other line is Colborne with Monahan and Hudler.
To be honest I would say whatever line has Gaudreau on it, is probably the 1st line. Hartley probably recognizes that Bennett and Frolik are going right now... Monahan and Hudler are not.

Actually really looking forward to tonight. I haven't watched a game since the Oilers game, I was just so disappointed I needed a big break. But I'm back now and ready to dedicate myself to this team, win or lose, even if a big loss knocks my mood down.
I just want to say even if Brodie does draw in tonight, we shouldn't expect a great performance from him. He probably has some rust and hopefully when he gets back to speed, so will everyone else.
I like the shake up of all the forward lines. We'll see if something gets sparked with that.
Go Flames!

Lot's of positive energy around these parts I must say. It's encouraging after nothing but hysteria and panic the last 2 weeks.

I agree. We should've spread out our top forwards over two lines from game 1. I had never realy thought about Gaudreau being used to be a catalyst for a second line, though. I think it's brilliant. If anyone can sub up top it's Colborne. He may not be showing any finish lately, but he's one of our best possession players in that he can hold on to the puck and protect it in the offensive zone for periods of time. As long as he can keep it cycling in the opposition's end, Monahan and Hudler can make something out of the play. Gaudreau will 100% get Bennett's offense going, as long as they're given enough of a chance together. I like it. TJ can only help things as well from a possession and puck moving standpoint.

Will be very interesting to see Gaudreau and Bennett together again. Looked awesome together in penticton. Also will be interesting to see how Monahan and Hudler fare with colborne,

I'm not saying we should have retained him at the price he is at, but could the Flames ever use him or a guy just like him.

This.
We'd probably have a pretty balanced top 6 with him right now.
