They also actively disparage refs for “not calling enough” on a regular basis. I’m surprised the NHL hasn’t made them stop with at least that part.

No stopping the over the top homerism.

That call for the entire OT was the most embarrassing I have ever heard. OMG! That means they won the Cup, right? It must have been "hear their biggest fans call the game", not professionals.

Petterson's goal gives the Canucks some hope of staying ahead of the Oilers, it is 3-1 Ducks after forty minutes.

It is scoreless after twenty minutes in the Predators-Blues game. The Stars and Senators are tied 2-2.

Honestly seeding doesn't even matter other than avoiding WC2 IMO

The Oilers/Canucks winning the Pacific are still the same flawed teams

They just need to make them 3 point games, that would actually allow one to see who the actual playoff teams are.

In the West it would look like this

Pacific

1) Vancouver - 94 points
2) Edmonton - 94 points
3) Vegas - 88 points
4) Calgary - 86 points
5) Arizona - 85 points
6) San Jose - 73 points
7) Anaheim - 69 points
8) LA - 59 points

Central
1) Colorado - 105 points
2) St. Louis - 99 points
3) Dallas - 94 points
4) Winnipeg - 85 points
5) Minnesota - 85 points
6) Nashville - 83 points
7) Chicago - 76 points

You would have a clear elite (Colorado and St. Louis)

A solid second tier (Vancouver, Edmonton, Dallas)

And then you would have a heck of race from the mediocre teams (Vegas, Calgary, Arizona, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Nashville) for the final three spots (with one Pacific team definitely getting in)

That would be much better than getting rid of the loser point.

I just hate the idea of winning a shootout being so valuable. I would be ok with this concept if the NHL didn’t have gimmicks after 60 minutes in the regular season. No other sport changes their rules so dramatically between the regular and post season.

Canucks will want to re-sign Markstrom. Having a great year but also, Demko just isn't that good.

Tortorella is going to explode as the BJs have slumped in the second period. The Devils have scored three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead.

It is 1-1 in the Blues-Predators game.

The Oilers have this incredibly crappy lineup, for the most part AHL talent, they call up Yamamoto who proceeds to have a top 10 scoring pace in the league. But frankly they're showing more guts and passion then our team is, and that's disgusting to me.

Sad situation, the oilers are in first place and are as far away from first in the conference as we are from the oilers.

The Stars and Senators are still tied at 2-2. Khudobin has faced 36 Senators shots so far and has taken two minor penalties.

Demko's 3 games before this were .944, .976 and .906. He's been fine this season.

But yes, they should really try to get Markstrom back he's a top 15 Goalie in the league right now.

Oilers won again? My god, we truly are living in some kind of bizarro, nightmarish timeline. I figured that garbage roster would be lucky to win 2 games without McDingus in the lineup, and yet somehow they continue to roll right along. Perhaps this is God's punishment for the Flames being so inconsistent and not playing up to their potential.

This entire season can f*** right off.

That is why I would like to see 3 point win 1 point tie NO REGULAR SEASON OT. Teams that play to protect a tie will fall behind.

The Jets are playing hang on, they lead 3-2 with under four minutes left in regulation time.

The stinkin' Leafs had a nuclear meltdown in the third period after tying the game at 2-2. The Sabres scored three goals in 91 seconds and won 5-2. Lol.

Except for VAN losing, the OOT this weekend could not have been worse for the Flames.

This could be the weekend that spelled the end of the season. Oh well at least can approach the trade deadline with some clarity now.
