No far less exciting. The Aussies did though pull off a sports movie trope bringing in a ringer. A 6’6” Scotsman whose mum just happens to be Australian. He scored 2 goals on debut.

Austria up 1-0 in Slovenia, despite missing Alaba and Arnautovic through injury.
man, going to be a long 65 minutes. If we win this one the door to Euro 2020 is WIDE open.

HELL YEAH!!!!! That should do it. Never thought they'd have a shot after losing those first two games, but Israel collapsed and neither Macedonia nor Slovenia have been good enough on a constant basis.

They have played before without any problems.
They played in 1993 in Doha in probably the greatest World Qualifying Group ever.
The Asian Hex, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq. To qualify for the US World Cup.
5 matches in 13 days.

Ukraine up early on Portugal, now 2-0. If they hang on to win they will top the group. Awesome!

Brutal, brutal 2nd yellow and penalty given to Portugal. These hand balls are getting a bit much.

it's so, so shameful that UEFA talks about tackling racism and then does nothing. I mean, it's not surprising, but disappointing nonetheless. These countries never learn unless you throw the book at them.

Uefa confirmed on Tuesday that its control, ethics and disciplinary body had opted to impose a two-match stadium ban – one match longer than is usual for a second offence – as well as ordering the Bulgaria Football Union to pay a €75,000 fine. However, the second will be suspended during a probationary period of two years.
The sanction means Bulgaria’s qualifier against the Czech Republic on 17 November will be played behind closed doors, while they have also been ordered to display a banner with the words “No to Racism” with the Uefa logo.
that'll teach them!

Lol, I read that this is the 17th sanction for racism from UEFA this year and second for Bulgaria. I don't know...maybe it's just not working?

How dare you besmirch the effectiveness of the banner!!!
It has a slogan on it! A SLOGAN!!! What more do you want? Blood?

"Say Ehh to Racism" actually has a decent ring to it.

World Cup Qualifying in Asia.
Iran are in trouble for making that final 12. Losses to both Iraq and Bahrain.
South Korea are kind of blah. Two scoreless road draws.#
And the surprise is Vietnam are leading Group G. They have improved over the last couple of years.
