Cost controlled players are particularly important to WPG. With only 1 year remaining on Brodie’s deal I don’t think he’s a viable option for them.

Being Kadri has a ten team no trade clause, I would bet 100 percent Calgary is on it. Doesn’t surprise me on what was said on hockey central at all.

He essentially confirms what was said at the Draft, which is that the Flames are not interested in moving TJ Brodie. I think what happens is that Treliving will attempt to clear cap through other deals, but would much rather keep Brodie for the year if he can.

I just don't understand it from an asset management perspective.

There is no way they can bring back both him and Hamonic. Meaning one of them walks for nothing after the next season.

One they can afford to lose more than the other (yes its been beaten to death).

I wonder if Hamonic comes into play?

There are more than a few sources that have mentioned the Kadri deal, so there definitely seems to be some smoke around this one.

not sure they can? depends on what the cost of Tkachuk is, but i would have to think they need to shed some salary somewhere.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Brodie was available but not necessarily being shopped. Like he could be moved for the right price (Kadri) but it’s also possible the Flames keep him.

Frolik would be my bet on who’s being shopped around for cap space.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Maroon. Not sure what happens before then, but the Flames have a history of being linked to him.
