I hope Sam lights it up and becomes that player he was touted to be. I don’t think he will, but time will tell. As well, if the Flames don’t make the playoffs, I’ll be cheering for either the Leafs or the Panthers to win it all.

Okay, based on this first game I was completely wrong.
Stat line on Bennett tonight: G-0, A-2, P-2, +3, Hits-5. That's with zero PP time and almost 2 minutes of short-handed time
Led the team in all categories other than goals. Pretty great debut for him tonight.

...which fits, I had a Panthers lunch box as a kid, and a pair of Panthers shorts which I wore while rocking my Raptors t-shirt. The 90s were cool.

They seem to have all the elements to do so. #1 center in Barkov, #1 defenseman in Ekblad, #1 goalie in Bobrovsky, #1 winger in Huberdeau. Elite Coach in Quennville. And Playoff Sam Bennett.

When I was a kid I pretty much just cheered for different goalies, and a lot of the times it was just whoever had cool pads...but Hasek’s run in ‘99 was what got me.

Hopefully that goes for anyone who wants to move on from Sam Bennett, they can now avoid this thread! Finally a place where we can have some positive Bennett discussion. Was good to see him having a good game and fitting in nicely!

I would look at 9 weeks as being the minimum time.
