I don’t see how some people can be so gleeful about the Flames failing so badly. Nothing against anyone, but I can’t wait until the thought of him is in the vault.

Ya, there was never any indication Joe Colborne was ever going to be the talent that Sam Bennett has. I can remember getting a hard time on here for saying Bennett would hit 70 points someday. I think this year could be someday, we will see.

For a lot of people it really has nothing to do with the Flames failing, and everything to do with cheering on a player that grew up on the Flames.
I don’t even think the people who bring up this as a Flames mistake are gleeful about it.

Don't even care from the Flames POV. I just like Bennett, seems like a great kid and plays the game hard. What's not to like?

3 goals, 6 shots, 3 hits, 18 minutes of ice (1 minute of PP and 3 minutes of PK).
His only bad stat on the night? 27% FO win percentage.

Well the penalties are stupid. But if Q can weed those out of his game he's a guy every team wants in their lineup. That's the only criticism I have of him.

Good to see.
Regarding being 'gleeful', Meh, wish it happened here but think we all got to the point we all realized he wasn't going to grow any further here in cgy.
It's a damn shame. A nasty, gritty, C, that can produce. He really could have been a legend in Calgary where we love our heart and soul skills guys the most (Roberts, fleury, gilmour, iggy).
