2 days before an actual game, why not try something wacky?

Edit - I'd temper expectations here folks. Pretty sure these won't be the lines come Thursday

I’m all for that first line.

Can’t see Gaudreau doing much on that third line (though he hasn’t done much lately regardless) but a Gaudreau-Backlund-Monahan line could be interesting.

Another alternative I wouldn’t mind seeing:
Tkachuk-Lindholm-Monahan
Gaudreau-Backlund-Mangiapane

I hate the Rieder-Jankowski-Frolik line, I just do. The Penalty Kill line sucks. I get that forth lines are rarely good, and that they don't make or break a team. Still, I would rather see some young hungry players try out then a line that plays like they are a man down.

My guess is that it is D.J Brodie?

Don't like Monahan at wing, but I'm happy to see a shakeup.

Having said that, they've won two in a row so...

Well Ryan is the team’s best center so far this year and Lucic has been as effective as either Tkachuk or Gaudreau the last couple games, so it looks like Johnny actually got promoted

I like Johnny on the right side. I don’t like moving our best faceoff guy to the wing though, unless he’s playing the wing but still taking the faceoffs of course.

Weird lines I have to say. Monahan at left wing? I can't see that working. I believe this is more of a motivation thing to tell Monahan and Gaudreau they really need to play better. Also reward Tkachuk and Lindholm for their play.

Agreed with other poster, hate that 4th line.

I'm all for trying different options though.

Maybe Johnny on line 3 forces the opposition to either:

a) key in on that line with their best defensive forwards, thus giving the top 6 lesser opponents
b) Johnny gets the weaker opponents, thus giving him more time/space to make plays

Either way I like it. Nice to see Lindholm at center.

Takes a lot of pressure off Johnny. I’m curious to see these lines in a game or two

The second line is the one I question. Two centers who can't get their offensive game going plus a rookie still trying to find his way in the game. As a previous poster said, though, change could be good.

The new coach bounce normally ends after 3-4 games, so time to start implementing Wards ideas. Either that or he is just messing with them

Monny on the Wing is very interesting to be honest.
