I might be in the minority, but I am not interested in seeing the same team 9-10 times, even if it is the oilers/habs/etc. I much prefer more variety as a fan, and as a season ticket holder, I don't know what to think. Hoping for no fans, I guess (or very minimal fans, so there would only be a few games per season ticket holder).

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Covid doesn’t care what you think.

With guys like Tkachuk, Andersson, Lucic, Rinaldo, Bennett, and Mangiapane we made very well become Canada’s most hated team pretty soon. I love it! Let’s go!

Or a Junior schedule for a team in a remote location. We used to see the same teams three games in a row all the time until a team about 90 minutes away joined the league and it changed to doubleheaders.

Playing the same team's over and over could take some of the anticipation and excitement out of the games for sure, both for the players and fans. Hopefully, all the games are competitive. But it's better than nothing.

It’s going to be the best regular season ever in terms of intensity and large fanbases being at each other’s throats, that’s for sure.
I predict fans will want a full time Canada division after they see how much more engaging it is. Shortened schedule makes each game more meaningful as well.

I get why they are doing it this way, and I expressed an opinion that I don't like it.

I already hate all the CDN teams besides Calgary, this is going to be a long hate fueled season watching them play these same teams over and over again.

I hope everyone can sit back and enjoy this season for what it is. It’ll be another one-off, never again to be duplicated.
I think it’s going to be a ton of fun facing these teams so many times. Every game should be higher intensity, compared to a normal Tuesday night game in January against the Panthers.
The NFL has offered to send front line workers who have been vaccinated to the Super Bowl. Hoping the NHL does something similar. I’d love to watch the Flames play the Oilers at Rogers Place without all the obnoxious Oiler fans around.
