Mavi’s Napoleon Dynamite like “GOSH!! Thaaaaank Youuuuuuu” to the ref the other game when he finally got a call was hilarious. Acting like there should have been call after call he just wasn’t getting because the refs were being stingy. Such a whiner, while he’s the one doing the holding and running interference all the way up the ice.

Like when he held and tied up the Flyer for 40 feet, then the Flyer bumped him back to get McDavid off him and he gets called for a penalty.

Connor tries his hardest to outdo Tkachuk at being a penalty drawing artist, but with a lot more crying and sour soother faces.

I think that the oilies schedule survey has a tick box that says “play day after Flames”.

Again… the scary thing is if the league buckles to the media and the complaints from McDavid and starts giving the oilers powerplays if anyone breathes on McDavid in the playoffs. I think that’s the Oilers’ big “plan” for this team.

It will be ridiculous if the league does do this in the playoffs… why should McDavid get any better treatment than any other player that has ever been in the playoffs? Everyone that has ever won a Stanley cup has had to do it fighting through the rougher and tighter-checking that comes in the in the post-season. Instead of fighting through it like Crosby did… McDavid wants them to change how they call the playoffs just for him.

If they are going to start calling the playoffs differently to pander to certain players then they should call every single slash - no matter how minor - that Gaudreau gets. Every one. That’s the equivalent to what McDavid and company are asking for for him in regards to holds/hooks/touches away from the puck.

Yeah. No question they have it good this year (again).
When considering differential of playing a tired team while rested (advantage) vs playing rested team while tired (disadvantage).
Montreal has it easiest at +7
Ottawa hardest at - 9
Oilers have +6
Flames have +1

I'd just rather we don't weep about it around here.

Thumbs down

I don't hate the ollies by any stretch of the imagination, or there fans, but I have to say they're lack of humility for the hot start of the season is absolutely breathtaking. Especially considering how many times they had a hot start and then collapsed.

I knew Jets fans were good for something.

Not much, but something.

This has probably already been mentioned, but trying to answer my own question earlier and I noticed that the Flames play b2b nights 15 times this season. The Oilers play 6.

According to this link they have 8 and Calgary has 14. 8 is the fewest in the league and only edmonton sits at 8.

Calgary has the 3rd lowest off days in the entire league only behind San Jose and Montreal.

Why do off days matter? I think that's more for fantasy hockey.

A day off between games you have a chance to play your starting goalie, for one.

That's not what that stat means though. From the article it's days where you play but no one else does or something.

Yes you're right. Really only for fantasy hockey.

YEG is one of the most unrestricted airports our there to my knowledge. As far as I know there are no restrictions at all, and actually YYC might be the same. They are all charter flights and can come and go whenever the team wants them.

That might actually contribute to the success? Hard to defend something that is not structured.

The thread is titled EDMONTON IS NO GOOD

Its certainly relevant that the league has bent over backwards to get them off to a good start

And a team located in Edmonton Alberta has the fewest B2Bs in the entire league by 3 games. Flames who are down the road from them have nearly twice as many.

Yes, but fans whining about it does not change anything, it just brings the fans down to Oiler-fan levels
