Love the player. I want to see him get that shot off more.

In his first few rookie tournaments, I was constantly being impressed by his positioning, which means he has a very high hockey IQ.
He has elite hockey IQ and the talent to go with it. If he matches that with hard work and desire, he can reach Gio levels of success.
The good part of all this of course, is that there are Valimaki, Kylington AND Hanifin that can potentially reach those levels too.

He is at present better than Michael Stone, but not as good as TJ Brodie. He looks like he will become a top-pairing defenseman—maybe as soon as this year, but I don’t think he is quite there yet.
And yes, it would be awesome to see him get his shot off more often.

Nah, I think he's better than TJ already, or at least on par.
The wildcard on his value is that he seems to have great chemistry with Gaudreau. Could be something special in that regard.

I thought last night he looked a step quicker than last year.

He is solid but honestly he hasn't made as big as impact as I thought he would.

I think he's on the precipice of really breaking out into like a 10-15 goal scorer.

Wideman 2.0? [The Good Dennis Wideman]
The top pair did not look as good last night as it has when Brodie has played with Giordano this year. For now I think Andersson is best suited to the third pairing with Kylington.

I think he has looked great and still has room to grow.
However I think we are all sleeping on Hanifin, who has looked IMO incredible to start this season.
Gio
Hanifin
Rasmus
Hamonic
Brodie
Stone/Kylington
Is how I would rank our defenders performance so far this season

Well, Gio played a lot of minutes without Andersson as well. 8 of em, actually.
To me, it was Stone that was throwing everything off.
Were Gio and Andersson's stats bad last night or something? I honestly don't have a clue.

I don’t get this LOL Brodie is awful. He has moments of brilliance and then long periods of just dumb dumb mistakes. People definitely over value him on this board. THE most over rated flame and it’s not even close
1-Gio
2-Hanifin
3-Andersson
4-Hamonic
5-Brodie
6-Kylington
7-Stone

Andersson thinks the game very well and plays with the confidence of someone much older. However, I believe his skating will always limit him to a degree. He also needs to continue getting stronger.

Hanifin - Anderson are the future out our blueline. Think their game compliments each other perfectly too. I love how Rasmus is in every scrum.

Rasmus had this great rush in OT.
Better quality: https://gfycat.com/validgregariousamericanratsnake
Starts by protecting the puck from Radulov then sprints up and dekes right past Seguin for a 2 on 1. His skating looks greatly improved.
