I see Florida is still brutal defensively.

Dougie with a great start to the season which is unusual for him. Already 3 goals on the year.

On the Islanders broadcast they had a trivia question: what is the highest scoring brother tandem in NHL history. Answer: Gretzky brothers (Brent had 4 points). Sedins 2nd.
I was at a loss...either the dumbest or most genius sports trivia question I’ve ever heard.

I've heard that question before, followed by a top 5 alltime. That was harder, as you always overlook an obvious one. Or two.

I have heard that one a few times, bit of a trick question

It's crazy that even Bobby Hull and Brett Hull don't have as many points as Gretzky.
Way more goals though.

Probably the best Goalie tandem in the league.

Are the Hulls (Bobby, Dennis, Brett) the top overall family? By my math, they're just ahead of the two generations of Sutters.
I can't think of any other family that might be up there with them.

No, they're ahead of Bobby and Brett as the highest-scoring father/son(s), but when you add Dennis's 654 points, it puts the Hulls ahead of the Gretzkys and the Howes.
If my math is correct, Bobby, Dennis and Brett scored a total of 3215 points in the NHL. Right now, the Sutters are at 3209. When/if Brandon can score 7 more points, the Sutters will pull ahead.

In 2015 the Hulls were on top with the Sutters second. I don’t think there’s been activity that would change that.

It will be exciting to see where the Tkachuks end up.
Keith put up 1065, so Matthew and Brady would have to have similar careers to their dad to be in the mix

It's definitely a work in progress. I suspect it's a personnel thing as much as it is a systems play thing. They just play a little bit too loose, and pucks get through their defensive structure more than they should. That's a systems thing to me.
But then you see some players just have no awareness of the situation, or the decision making process is worse than junior players, and you have to question if those particular players will ever be good defenders at the NHL level.
It's been the team's achilles heel for a while now. They have the weapons on offense, but they spend too much time defending to let those guys do what they do best.
This is why they went and got Bobrovsky, expensive as he was. I've seen him save 4 or 5 sure goals already this season, helping his team stay in games where they were being pretty strongly outplayed. Give coach Q enough time and I'm sure the team will get better, but I don't know that it will ever be a strength of the team.
