To Carolina

Anders Bjork

To Columbus

Leo Komorov
Klim Kostin
1.5 M of Fine Smoked Gouda

Willing to take a stab at Kostin working out. I think he has a role in the NHL, just hoping his offense develops a bit more. Thanks to Doug for the deal.

Was an easy deal to make with Knut, although we like Kostin and his upside we like the short-term return of Bjork next season.

We needed to move numbers out and are happy to have accomplished that goal. Once guys come off IR I didn't want to be over the roster limits.

To Edmonton: Filip Hronek

To Montreal: Joel Edmundson, Matthias Norlinder, 2022 1st, 4.25 smoked gouda

Value wise I’m not sure I win this deal. However, my cap situation is gonna be hell in the summer and I think Hronek is gonna be great running the show on the back end with Girard going forward. Norlinder is a really solid prospect but I think he’s a few years away. The 1st is really tough to give up as it’s probably my best trade chip but if you know me well I’m almost as bad as the Scorpion to holding onto picks. And finally, getting rid of Edmundson is tougher then it sounds. He’s got a good rating and always has a high DF rating. He’s been on my team since I took over in September 2016 which is rare in this game as players move around all the time. I’m going to miss him but I’d rather keep guys like Klingberg instead of him.

Thanks to goffie for the deal, I haven’t made one all season so it’s about time

Carl Hagelin was a pending UFA and contributing to wins. Where we are in the standings, wins don’t really help us. Get a couple of decent young prospects and a 3rd in a couple of years.

To Lost Angeles : Evgeni Dadonov and Theo Neiderbach.

To Toronto : Alex Tuch, Jake Truscott and 3rd 2022.

Alex Tuch is a really good candidate to rebound into a pretty good player, but I'm considering Dadonov my last kick at making the playoffs this year. It's well known in hockey math circles that one Dadonov and one Backlund = one Malkin. I also always liked the Neiderbach pick and am happy to have him in the fold.

The Leafs felt they had little choice but to trade Dadonov after his incessant insistence for everyone to refer to him as Daddy creeped out the locker room and ... OH... Dadonov... Daddy... I get it now!

That unfortunate misunderstanding aside, the Leafs are still extremely happy to add Tuchy to our group.

The Leafs flip Tuch and Glendening to the Habs for Bozak and McGinn.

Toronto wanted to rebuild the 4th line and Tuch was the sacrifice, though we feel McGinn has a high ceiling as a defensive forward. Plus, Bozie is back in Toronto, baby!

Luke Glendening is a horrible hockey player.

Johnson was a good guy to have as he could play all 3 positions. However I don’t like the Lightning so he wasn’t allowed to stay.

Arvidsson who I really like and see as a top 30 goal scorer goes immediately to Colorado for my most disliked NHL player Drouin. I think Drouin has all the talent in the world. But doesn’t have the effort level or strength to compete on a regular basis. I hope he proves me wrong.

We were in a gambling move so decided to take a flyer on Tuch as well. I think he can round out his game and become a regular 20 goal scoring 3rd liner. He is still missing consistency so hopefully he finds that. Bozak has been on our PK unit all season so we will miss him there.

There may be a few more additions to the D core in the coming days as well.

To San Jose:
Jake McCabe
Artem Anisimov

To Carolina:
Lucas Wallmark
Tucker Poolman

Sharks couldn't pass up on reacquiring fan favorite Jake McCabe. We hope this deal is small enough it won't upset the chemistry of our team. Anisimov will slide onto the 4th line in Wallmark's spot and McCabe will likely see minutes on the 3rd pairing with Zaitsev starting out.

Thanks Doug for the deal, always a pleasure.
