Holy. How awesome is it that we finally have someone on this team that can do this to Burns?

That hit where Lucic just barreled right through Clutterbuck on a zone entry was insane. Like a "Lol, no" moment.

I think that is what makes me somewhat optimistic about the trade. For a big body Neal didn't use it much. As much as Lucic is criticized with his skating he is able to play the heavy game. Neal lost that agitator part of his game and when you aren't hitting or scoring you aren't really bringing much value. Mangipane had the same amount of hits as Neal, in 20 fewer games.

That’s embarrassing, wow.
I can’t say enough just how happy I am to be paying Lucic 5.25 instead of paying 6.5 for Neal’s ‘services’.
Another telling state — Takeaways/Giveaways
Last year Neal had just 11 TK’s and 35 GV’s, below are his previous 5 seasons totals for that stat.
TK/GV
49/32 - 2017/18
40/30 - 2016/17
49/25 - 2015/16
37/31 - 2014/15
31/22 - 2013/14
Clearly he checked out from the get go and it’s truly disappointing; good luck with that Edmonton

Neal was never supposed to be a hitter. But he was supposed to be an agitator and borderline dirty player, so at least sorta physical. And I think I saw that maybe twice in the season.

I guess I'm not ready to get down on my knees and start worshipping at the altar for a guy simply erasing previous mistakes.

Let’s pretend trading picks for depth going into the POs is a mistake and not something every GM does. Isn’t making up for a mistake a smart thing to do?

You don't need to become a devotee, but it sure doesn't hurt to extend credit when it is warranted. Treliving earned his today.

Don't trade picks at deadline for help? No trade!? BT is no good!
Acquire picks at draft? Why did we trade at deadline!? BT is no good!

I am hoping this thread remains st the top of the board over the next week and we don’t see a reappearance of “Treliving needs to feel the heart” on the first page.
