I just hope he doesn't come out ultra aggressive trying to hit winners from 5 feet behind the baseline because it will be a short match if that happens.

I agree this has the potential to get really ugly, really fast. I do feel like Shapo has begun to turn the corner back towards a level that is more sustainable and worthy of a top 20 ranking.
Win or lose, how he handles himself in this match can certainly set the tone for the grass season and remainder of his season.

Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz feels the love of the Paris crowd...

In women's doubles, we will have a clash of Canadians in round 3 in a couple of days as Leylah/Taylor will face Gaby/Luisa

Rublev finds himself in a 5th set with Sonego. Bweh was up 2 sets to love.
Edit: Sonego wins it in five. Wowza!

Meanwhile, ADF is giving Djoker all he can handle thus far. Already an hour played and we're at 5-5 in the opening set.
Edit: Djoker takes the opening set in a tie-break. ADF served for it at 6-5 and stuffed it up.

You have to wonder if Rublev will ever have a break out at a grand slam.

Novak wins set 2 in a tie-break and is now taking a MTO before the start of set 3.
Edit: ADF had his chances to win set 1 and set 2, but didn't win either and Novak cruised in set 3.

I think he will eventually, but as we all know, 3 out of 5 is a different beast from 2 out of 3. Even though he won his first Masters 1000 at Monte-Carlo earlier this year, I think his best chance at a Slam break-through is either at the US Open or the Aussie Open.

Also, I know very little about Elina Avanesyan, but she just beat Clara Tauson who defeated Leylah a couple of days ago and has made the fourth round at the French Open after losing in the final round of qualifying for the tourney.

Yeah, the French crowd is never shy of voicing their opinion, but that was pretty poor form during the on-court interview. We'll have to wait and see if Shaoo can stay as composed today as Fritz did yesterday.

Alcaraz road to the title....Shapo, Musetti, Tsitsipas, Djokovic, Rune/Ruud.
Almost as tough as Nadal's 2007 title run: Del Potro, Hewitt, Moya, Djokovic, Federer

these two aren't even playing the same sport. it might as well be literally MacKenzie Weegar against Alcarez.

Dennis will be hard up to win a game at this rate. So many unforced errors already.

lol - I've seen plenty of comebacks in grand slams after a lopsided opening set. Charlie is playing great and is steam rolling Shapo at the moment though.
