I don’t like to pile on Huberdeau but that play at the line was pretty brutal and also lazy. Really seemed to kill the momentum too
You don’t think you can backcheck Trouba? Maybe he didn’t know who had the puck but still bad

Flames did well and it wasn't a lack of scoring - Rangers were tight defensively and their goalie was up to the task playing head to head with Markstrom. It was basically a goalie dual.

I missed the Trouba hit but was listening to the Rangers call on SiriusXM. Maloney was saying it was a suicide pass, which after seeing the replay, was bang on. Not sure how people can be mad at Trouba for that, it's literally what he does.
Kadri really stood out for me tonight. He's absolutely a difference maker when he's going, just takes too many nights off for my liking.
Have to wonder what Kylington would have been had he played all season. He seems off to me, his reads are not the best right now. Maybe he's out of practice, but the Flames are going to have a decision to make this off season. I don't even know what one would offer him for a contract.

A short term, low dollar prove it deal.
If anything, I hope this game drives home with management that sitting on some of these players until the deadline may come back to bite them big time. Tanev is a ticking time bomb waiting to go down.

Flames lose 5% since my last update.
Blues gained 7% though so a 12% overall change to the gap.
8 teams now at 62% or greater, six teams a complete lock.
Locks
Canucks 100%
Stars 99%
Jets 98%
Avalanche 97%
Golden Knights 95%
Oilers 95%
Very likely the final two playoff teams
Kings 65%
Blues 62%
Hey you have the Flames spot!
Predators 42%
Now two pretenders
Flames 20%
Wild 14%
Over
Coyotes 7%
Kraken 5%
Ducks 0%
Sharks 0%
Blackhawks 0%

I don't think St.Louis is going to give that spot up, and with a new coach bump the Kings will likely stay afloat too. So the long shot that was the playoffs really shifted in the past 2 days with St.Louis winning twice, Nashville coming back against Arizona to stay in front. Shows that it's still going to be hard to get into the top 8. Giving up 4 points directly to St.Louis is a dagger.
Even with Markstrom playing as well as he is right now. They will need to give him some days off, and he can't win every game as was shown last night.

I've got Calgary as needed to go 18-8-3 for .672 the rest of the way to get in.
8 regulation loss count down
